Personal Description:
Hello,

I am in my final year of a BMUS performance degree specialising in the violin at the University of Chichester. I take part in many university ensembles including the symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra, string orchestra, concert orchestra and Pitt band. I have also taken part in string quartets, folk bands and amateur orchestras. I spend my summer breaks working with children at holiday camps and in nurseries. Playing the violin and teaching it is not only what I want to do professionally but is also my hobby!

Teaching Experience:

I have had a number of violin students over the last couple of years ranging from 6 years old to 26 years old. I plan each lesson to individual needs and depending on what the student desires.

I have lots of experience working with children. I have worked for Oxford Active Holiday camp where I have lead activities for 3-15 year olds. I have also worked at Create holiday camp on several occasions. I have experience working with young children and have spent many hours travelling around several nurseries in oxford with Kangacrew Staffing solutions.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is that it always should be fun! This is something that is very important to me. More than anything I want to share my love and enjoyment of playing the violin and show others how fun it can be! I always plan my lessons in advance to make the lessons as efficient as possible. It is very important to understand the needs of individuals so my lessons are planned accordingly.

Qualifications:
Grade 8 violin standard
Grade 5 viola standard
Expected to get a 2:1 in Bmus Performance

Personal Description:
Hi! My name is Brandon and I'm a Chartered Structural Engineer working in London part time and from home part time, in Hartford. I have been working professionally for 10 years now and have been involved in the design of some of London's most iconic skyscrapers. My job enables me to carry out mathematical problem solving on a daily basis, meaning I can easily transfer these skills into a tutoring environment and find pleasure in doing so.

I graduated from the University of Manchester in 2014 with a first class (hons) Masters degree in Civil and Structural Engineering.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience in tutoring GCSE & A-Level Maths and Physics in London, as well as assisting several students through their university applications. I have had great success in improving my tutees grades and helping them prepare more effectively for their exams and university applications.

I have also assisted the learning of many younger engineers in my day job, through weekly mentoring and coaching.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to start by spending some time to understand any problems or questions that the student might have, that may have recently arisen at school.

With subjects like Maths and Physics, an important way for students to understand problems is to visualise them before they can be solved. I usually employ analogies to help my students understand concepts and then test their understanding using exam type questions.

Qualifications:
First class honours degree- Civil and structural Engineer
A* grade- A Level Maths and Physics
Chartered Structural Engineer with the Institute of Structural Engineers
