Personal Description:
I am secondary school teacher. I am a native Spanish speaker and I have been doing quite a lot of tuition both in Spain and England over the years. I have been living in England for almost 20 years now and enjoy teaching and languages very much.

Teaching Experience:
I have 14 years of teaching in a Secondary School. I teach both French and Spanish. In the past I also taught English as a foreign language in different schools in Spain.
I have a degree in languages and a masters degree in linguistics/English as a foreign language. I did my teaching training course at Oxford University.

Tutoring Approach:
I enjoy one-to-one lessons (or small groups) as I have the chance to meet the student's needs with their Spanish. In all my tuition classes I cover what the students have problems with (i.e. grammar, vocabulary, preparing for their speaking exams...).

Personal Description:
From my experience in the classroom I realise that many students benefit from much more individual help than school can provide. I enjoy being able to help students on a one-to-one basis as it is very rewarding being able to improve their achievement and confidence.I am very grateful to my students and their parents for the relationships we have struck up, many of which have continued through the years.

Teaching Experience:
I am an English teacher with over 20 years experience teaching to GCSE, A-level and Oxbridge entrance.I have taught in both the independent and state sectors, in a large comprehensive and a small independent school. I have also tutored in Oxford and London for students from 10 to 19.

One to one or small groups of 2 or 3.

I aim to develop confidence by supporting the students and understanding their needs as a priority. I then encourage them to explore and develop ideas, giving them support while they grow in this. I have a First Class Degree in Chemistry and am a qualified Chemistry Teacher, with 18 years of teaching experience, including as Head of Chemistry in a Boys' Grammar School.

I love tutoring privately and am really proud to say that all of my students from last year achieved an A* or A and most went on to study Medicine or Dentistry.

Tutoring Approach:
I take on a friendly approach to learning and always make the student feel that they can succeed, regardless of where they start at.

I like to spend a little time with my students trying to find out where their strengths lie and then work with them on their weaknesses first. I provide a clear set of notes, which I prefer to give as the lesson proceeds. This allows the student to be fully engaged in the work and gives them the chance to stop me at any point and ask questions, change direction or spend more time on a particular section than originally intended. I like to provide the student with exam questions to work on in their own time, because I feel the tutoring time is better spent consolidating key concepts. This way, I find students are much better prepared to tackle a range of exam questions and more confident in approaching unfamiliar situations within the exam context.
