Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring will largely depend on the tutee. Differentiation is a key factor in teaching and tutoring. As a teacher, the emphasis would be on the delivery of material whilst as a tutor, I feel that there is a different focus which is to clarify understanding of material and prepare for assessment. Different tutee's will require different approaches. However; one thing which will remain constant is the rapport between myself and the tutee, A good rapport is a vital ingredient for success.

Personal Description:
Hello, I am a well qualified, BA, MPhil, PGCE teacher who is looking to branch out into more private tutoring work. I have privately tutored for many years and have experience since 1996. I have taught at all key stages and enjoy my work thoroughly. Last year (2019) my A level tutees all raised their grades by at least one and have gone off to uni. Proud to add that one in particular achieved an A* in Geography A level. and another A* in history and is now at Exeter. At GCSE my student achieved the first 9 which is excellent.
Please note that my rates are based on one to one tuition. Should you wish me to tutor groups of two or more either at home or in school I am happy to do so but rates will need to be discussed prior to my commencing work.
I now have experience of working on the E Bacc and depth studies.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught to A level in History for adult ed from 1998-2006
I have taught Geography to GCSE-level and A level
History in school at KS 3 and 4 AS and A level
I have helped undergraduates and post graduates in archaeology, history and teaching skills.
I can also teach basic geology and archaeology and classical studies.
Classical Civilisation to A level

Tutoring Approach:

I am always keen to engage students in whatever subject they are studying. I believe in being supportive and constructive in all that I teach. I am currently working on a one-to-one project with a student with special needs.
An excellent set of results (2015) all my 10 students passed, all raised their grade levels by at least one letter. All those off to uni are about to go so I wish them all well. Three others have a year or two left at school and have asked me to tutor them over the required time span.

Personal Description:
"All learners have their own unique learning process and understanding skills; but the right way of learning is the first step towards future success".

Having teaching experience with various students of differing learning abilities and across different exam boards helped me to develop special methods and skills in guiding my students in their subjects to achieve the best.

Teaching Experience:

In my 20 years of teaching experience, as a teacher and a lecturer, I have my own techniques to inspire students in understanding the subjects first and improve their own skills to answer exam questions with more confidence; no anymore silly mistakes are acceptable. Chemistry, physics, Biology and Maths are no longer difficult subjects.

With my perseverance, dedication and skills, students with U-grade have achieved grades A and/or B in their final examinations.

My experience in guiding students with their course work including proof reading and giving suggestions have boosted their grades.

I have also many years of teaching experience in Chemistry to university students, both undergraduates and postgraduates.

Tutoring Approach:

Transfer of my knowledge and skills will assure you to the path of your learning success. Understanding the subject is a first step for an excellent performance, the second step is the learning process of how to answer or what is the examiner's expectation for a specific question.

I am equipped with a variety of study materials and prescribed text books; past years question papers, examiners report, typical student's answers books and etc. which will give you exposure to a wide variety of exam oriented questions.
