Personal Description:
Hello,

I'm Alison, English Language tutor with UK tutors.

Studying at Cambridge University, the Open University and UWE I have qualified in English, linguistics and French to degree and postgrad. levels, I have coached my tutees from ungraded to grades B or C. I aim to make learning fun, inspire confidence and fill in those gaps in your knowledge to help you gain a good grade. My teaching methods vary according to the way each tutee learns. Previous tutees have praised my teaching resources and found these useful.

I know most about the AQA examining board syllabus.

Trained to teach sixteens and over, I have PTLLs and CTLLS qualifications so I mainly coach sixth formers.

I'd be delighted to help you through your AS- and A-levels and give you that extra practice and help that your teachers do not have time for.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience of teaching over sixteens and have successfully coached sixth formers for their AS- and A-levels. Pupils for Oxbridge entrance have also come to me.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to be clear about exactly what is to be taught and learnt from the first tutorial and sometimes draw up an individual learning plan.
It is good to be methodical, give plenty of practice with homework if you wish and to assess and check learning. I use a variety of teaching methods including lectures, worksheets, essays, close one-to-one help, asking and answering any questions and filling in gaps in your knowledge. I consolidate learning to give you the confidence you need to take an exam. Practice makes perfect so plenty of exercises until you know what you need to know.
I aim to make learning fun as well as getting you to work hard.

Personal Description:
I hold a first class degree from the University of Oxford in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. I am currently doing a Master's in Economic Research at Cambridge University and want to be a researcher in economics. Past students in Politics, Economics and Maths A-Level have achieved A/A* in public examinations I taught them for. I have four years tutoring experience. I can help students excel in 7+,11+,13+ and University entrance exams. I can help students achieve top grades in maths, science and English GCSE. I also can help students excel in economics, maths and politics A-Level, as I was a top graduate (in the top 8%) form the University of Oxford in those subjects. I achieved A*AAA at A-Level in Further Maths, History and Politics. I took five AS levels and averaged 94% in them. I scored 10A*s plus an A in additional maths at GCSE at RGS Guildford. I greatly enjoy mentoring and inspiring students to excel in their education. I derived an enormous amount of joy and excitement from my education. It is a wonderful thing to inspire my students to succeed and thrive in their studies. My ambition is to return to the University of Oxford to do a masters and doctorate in economics.

Teaching Experience:

I have four years experience as a private tutor, teaching: GCSE maths, oxbridge applications (interviews, personal statements, general preparation and guidance and the PPE entrance exam), GCSE science (chemistry, biology and physics), english GCSE, politics A-Level, economics A-Level and 11+ and 13+ entrance exams for private schools. I have helped students win places at RGS Guildford, Churcher's College, KCS Wimbledon, Wellington College and places at Oxford University (A student came in the top 1% of Oxford University PPE applicants after private lessons, but was on the 30th percentile in practice exams beforehand). I tutored maths for the 11+ entrance exam and they achieved a commendation for their performance in the exam. I have taught students aged 7-13 at the Kumon maths centre in Haslemere. I have structured revision and school work for students who dropped out of school for their GCSEs, providing home schooling. I inspired many students in maths by accelerating them quickly through the GCSE course.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a surface pro with a pen for online lessons. In economics and maths, I use an online whiteboard which students have permanent access to, to write notes and solutions to exam questions. My approach is to accelerate students as fast as possible through their given course using exam material to deepen and develop their knowledge. I find I can accelerate students rapidly in maths (at GCSE and A-level), whilst they greatly enjoy the subject and the sessions. Students quickly improve at school too, which gives them extra confidence in their talents and capabilities. I set students past papers questions and we resolve any difficulties they had in the session. Iterating through past paper questions in this manner leads to exceptional results: a student of mine came in the top 1% in the entrance exam against Oxford University applicants and gained a place. Similarly, students excel at 11+, 13+, GCSE and A-Level in this manner. Practicing exam material and constantly pushing myself is how I achieved first class hons at the University of Oxford (as well as how I exceled at school), coming top in Game Theory in the exam, so I believe in this approach.

Qualifications:
10 A*s at GCSE
A* Maths A-Level, A Further Maths A-Level, A History A-Level, A Politics A-Level, A Philosophy AS Level

I started my adult career in Performing Arts and travelled widely. Upon completing my goals in this field I sort about working with children. I started as a nanny in the USA and then returned to the UK to complete my degree in Primary Education.

Teaching Experience:

I graduated in 2010 and have been teaching ever since. I have taught in a variety of Primary Schools, I currently teach in a specialist provision for children on the ASD spectrum, attached to a mainstream school. I teach across the Key Stages from Reception to Year 6.

Tutoring Approach:

Helping children reach their full potential is my main goal. Many children struggle to be heard in the current 32 student class and bad habits begin to form early. From pencil grip, to formation of letters or numerals all can be corrected, but it takes a little time, care and attention.

Personal Description:
Hello,
I am Yalda Azizi, a 16 year old A Level student currently studying Biology, Chemistry and Geography. I am an aspiring medicine student, and use my free time studying ahead to reach my goal of reaching A*'s and A's in all these subjects for my A Levels. This choice of mine has been heavily influenced through my countless work experiences online such as Dental Mentors UK.
I have chosen to become a tutor above all other jobs (despite the many other job opportunities that have been offered to me), because not only do I enjoy teaching people an entertaining way of learning, but also sharing my own education with younger people.

My tutoring style focuses on teaching students everything in depth, answering a wide range of questions with them and then preparing memory games or online homework continuously to ensure they don't forget the content. The homework would usually consist of quizlet questions or online resources such as videos or notes.

Although I did mention earlier that I only take chemistry, biology and geography for A Level, I did take English A level for 2 weeks. The reason why I chose to drop the subject is because it wasn't necessary to take it in order to proceed with my aspiring career. However, at GCSE I managed to achieve an A* for both English language and Literature, and read whenever I have the time to do so.

Teaching Experience:

Aside school activities, I have no teaching experience.
