Personal Description:
I have teaching 5 years of teaching experience in the UK and also 8 years internationally. I have specialised in both Chemistry and Biology at A-level and have teaching and tutoring experience in both of these subjects.
My PGCE was completed from the University of Oxford and prior to this I completed a PhD from the University of Birmingham researching in Cardiology.

I have also spent 6 months working in special needs schools with pupils who have a variety of special needs including autism and emotional and behaviour issues.

I have teaching and tutoring experience and have also taught Mathematics up to A-level. I have tutored children from a number of schools in Reading and Newbury.

I have been actively tutoring for the last 13 years.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently working at a school following the British curriculum in Qatar and prior to this taught for 7 years in the UAE up to AP level, which is a very high level program In the US. Prior to my international experience I worked for 4 years at a comprehensive school in Reading. I have specialised in both Chemistry and Biology at A-level and have teaching and tutoring experience in both of these subjects.

I have more than 10 years experience (including a year during my PGCE at Oxford) in teaching up to A level and beyond in Chemistry, Biology and Human Biology. I teach all three Science subjects including Physics up to GCSE. I have experience in teaching AP level Chemistry, OCR Salters and EdExcel in Chemistry and Biology at A level and a number of different boards at GCSE level. I have also tutored the eBAC higher qualification in Chemistry.

I have tutored a number of pupils in Mathematics at GCSE level, one of which has since taken on Mathematics at A level as a direct result of the tutoring experience, achieving an A (previously predicted a D) in her GCSE.

Unfortunately because of my location I can only teach online so will need to rely on Zoom, Skype etc however, I don't believe this is a problem and can be an advantage as I rely on using a range of technology to help explain concepts.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that tutoring is a two way process that will be more successful if the student wants to learn and how well the tutor can explain a concept so that the tutee can understand. In order to achieve this I try to make tuition enjoyable and interesting, and try to boost the students confidence in themselves.

Being a teacher I am fortunate to be able to use teaching resources in my tutoring and focus on exam paper preparation as well as explaining concepts.
I use a lot of technology and apps to help students to visualize and understand concepts. I also use fun interactive teaching tools such as Quizlet, Quizizz and Kahoot to engages and make learning fun as it should be.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching drama students from the of age 6 - 60 since 1999. With some of them moving on to be successful actors themselves. However, I do understand that not all students want to be actors and approach each individuals needs accordingly.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that drama isn't just about 'acting' but also provides an outlet for self expression, it develops imagination and artistic awareness; it increases social and mental freedom, fluency of speech, self respect, self confidence and above all... it's FUN!

Drama gives students the opportunity to learn how to co-operate with others, aids orderly thinking and the ability to organise. The benefits do not only accrue through students participating actively in dramatic activity, they also learn through observing others.

I will provide what we hope you will see as the perfect balance of education, play, and stimulation. I run to a carefully planned curriculum paying equal attention to ALL my student's needs in our group sessions. I am also committed to a two way communication process with parents to ensure that we have total understanding and support.

I use practical explorations on how to make, perform and respond to drama. Our workshops encourage students with:

Confidence
Self Expression
Team Working Skills
Speaking and Listening
Emotional Intelligence
Community Involvement
Development of Practical, Creative and Intellectual Skills
Use The Student's Own Work As A Stimulus

Personal Description:
I have the character traits, the professional competence and communicative skills of a native speaker of Spanish to deliver quality lessons adapted to the student`s needs and demands.

The lessons will be immersive in the target language.Real Spanish in use will appear and the learner will be prompted to practice the target language as much as possible according to their level of Spanish. ..

I like to adjust the dynamics and content of every lesson to the specific needs of the learner. Also I find it challenging and rewarding to create tailored lessons adapted to any specific studentīs needs.

I have the academic background in SSL and the communicative skills as a native speaker of Spanish to meet any needs the learner might demand .Starting with zero level, going to casual adult learning, business Spanish and any required academic stage and examination test.

Teaching Experience:

I have a strong background in the field of Teaching of Spanish as a second language as I have taught adults and children since I finished my master my degree back in 1996.

I have taught SSL for more than twenty years(2.000-2.008) in the Sunny coast in Spain to English foreign residents, both casual and academic learners(A-C LEVELS) of Spanish language and culture.
I have taught English as a second language and Spanish language (1.995-2.008) and literature to pupils all across the Spanish Curriculum.

I am currently teaching Spanish in the area of Nottingham-Loughborough-Leicester to both GCSA students at AQA level and casual adult learners .

Tutoring Approach:

My viewpoint is that it is the student the one who plays the key role in any teaching-learning process.

Essentially the lessons will have an immersive character where the real use of Spanish, whatever your needs are, will be at the forefront.

There were several fields all along my university degree such as phonetics, phonology or grammatical structures where it was established a contrastive study between the English and Spanish languages I think that is a plus and poses an advantage when it comes to teaching Spanish to any English native speaker.
.
As a general overview you will be covered any aspect of the Spanish language you are interested in.

I would like just to welcome any question or doubt you have about the lessons and the way we could approach them.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Personal Description:
I am a chartered engineer and I have been a part-time tutor for nearly 11 years. I achieved both my undergraduate Master's degree and PhD in mechanical engineering at Imperial College London. I myself have been passionate about maths, science and engineering ever since I learnt about climate change back in year 3. Since then I have always wanted to do as much as I can to make a difference and try to help with the problems we face involving energy and climate change.
Outside of engineering and tutoring I have many hobbies including cycling, archery, playing guitar and video gaming.

Teaching Experience:

I have been providing private tuition since summer 2014. In that time, I have taught over 500 hour's worth of lessons. I was also heavily involved with Outreach during my time at Imperial College London, which included both mentoring and leading academic day events and summer schools for school students from across the UK.

Tutoring Approach:

I would like to offer tuition for maths, physics and chemistry from year 5 up to year 11. Although I want every student I help to achieve the highest results possible, my main aim is to develop a firm understanding and interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subjects so that they may enjoy studying them and have a greater capability to take them on at higher levels if they so choose. I mostly tutor online, and since transitioning to online tutoring as a result of COVID I have successfully provided over 100 hours of tutoring to a number of clients through online platforms. I primarily use Discord to speak with my tutee and to screenshare an exam paper or textbook, and we have used shareable online whiteboards such as Miro to write on. I am always open to trying other online platforms if they are more suited to you. As long as I can hear my student clearly then I have found online tutoring to be just as effective as in person. I am very flexible with times for lessons, including doing lessons at weekends, so please do send a message asking if I am available.
