| Personal Description: Experienced language tutor with excellent proficiency (oral/ written) in 3 languages. I am an experienced tutor in teaching French (up to GCSE and IGCSE, A'Level and International Baccalaureate and beyond). I also teach German and Italian up to GCSE/IGCSE level. I also teach conversation and practical French for adults looking to use the language for holidays/buying/maintaining properties in France as well as business French or just for general use Have valid CRB disclosure |
Teaching Experience: I have been teaching for the last 10 years at all levels and have consistantly produced good results in my students at A' Level/IB as well as GCSE/IGCSE. I am fully conversant with all Exam Boards and GCSE/IGCSE/A'LEVEL/IB etc. syllabuses I have also taught French to adults at all levels for example who have just wanted to be able to converse comfortably while on holiday, use French to purchase a house in France. I have taught those who want to learn from scratch as well as those who are already at a reasonable level and want to improve their oral and writing skills for business or pleasure |
Tutoring Approach: My approach is firstly to assess closely where the gaps in my pupil's knowledge are and then build on closing them through grammar and vocabulary. I therefore give my students the building blocks to construct their own sentences in writing and speech. I will work with them sometimes using their own text books but also I provide my own material to make the lessons more interesting. I will use games/quizzes as well as focussing on past papers and oral exams to help them gain confidence in the language. I engage well with all my pupils and they always enjoy their lessons with me so that their time with me does not feel like just another extension of school My conversation lessons with adults are always fast-paced and fun and my pupils widen their vocabulary and gain confidence in the new language very quickly |

| Personal Description: Previously worked in a business environment for 29 years, coaching, training and mentoring skills and behaviours. I recently changed my career to specialise in teaching Business English and tutoring for IELTS exams as this is the type of work I enjoy the most. Now offering tutoring to children and adults wanting to improve their English Language skills or pass various English qualifications. I am happy to undertake tutoring on an individual basis, or in small groups of up to 4 people. Lessons can be undertaken at my home, or at the student's address. |
Teaching Experience: Coaching, training and mentoring roles in my previous career in the financial industry. Conversational English lessons given (including for business purposes) at my second home in Spain. |
Tutoring Approach: Lessons are very much structured to an individual's requirements. These can range from fun-based activities to structured grammatical exercises, but usually combine a variety of methods. Lessons include all four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing to teach both vocabulary and grammar. My main priority in teaching is to keep the lessons interesting and fun as this will assist the learning process. However, homework is very important as this helps to confirm the student's understanding and will also assist in progressing more quickly. |

| Personal Description: I am an experienced History teacher with extensive classroom experience teaching students across KS3 and GCSE. I currently teach Edexcel GCSE History and have a strong understanding of the specification, assessment objectives, and exam requirements. I offer support across a range of Edexcel GCSE History topics, including Medicine Through Time, The Cold War, Weimar and Nazi Germany, Crime and Punishment, Elizabethan England, Henry VIII and his Ministers, and the American West. I can also provide support for KS3 History, helping students build a strong foundation in historical knowledge and skills. |
Teaching Experience: I have over three years of classroom teaching experience and have worked with a wide range of students across KS3 and GCSE History. As a practising classroom teacher, I have extensive experience planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and adapting my teaching to meet the needs of different learners. I have worked closely with GCSE students throughout their courses, supporting them with content knowledge, exam preparation, revision strategies, source analysis, and extended historical writing. This experience has given me a strong understanding of the common challenges students face and the most effective ways to help them overcome these barriers. |
Tutoring Approach: I believe that every student can succeed with the right support and encouragement. My lessons are tailored to individual needs, whether students are looking to improve their understanding of key topics, develop effective revision strategies, strengthen exam technique, or boost their overall confidence in History. I strive to create a positive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, challenging themselves, and developing a genuine interest in the subject. My goal is not only to help students achieve excellent results but also to inspire a lasting appreciation for History and its relevance to the world today. |
