Personal Description:
I have been studying music and photography for some years now and I am very passionate about them both. I like helping others and help those who need a helping hand. I have an NCFE Level 2 ND in music and an NCFE Level 2 in photography which I gained through Gateshead College which was awarded 'Outstanding' in all areas by Ofsted 2009

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching the snare drum (Side Drum) at Northumbria Army Cadet Force, helping the drummers from holding their sticks properly to a range of drum rudiments

Tutoring Approach:

I like to make sure that the tutee is learning something from me, if there is something that has not been understood then I will happily go over that specific thing as many times as needed. For music I will teach theory and if the tutee plays an instrument I will be happy to help them develop their skills on their instrument; (Note: I will teach guitar and drum kit, however I will use a piano for theory work mainly)

Personal Description:
I was born and raised in Barcelona, Spain, and moved to Yorkshire 20 year ago.

I speak 4 languages and being over here has given me the opportunity to teach my mother tongue, which I thoroughly enjoy!

Teaching Experience:

I have always taught languages - both in Spain and in England. I have had students from a wide spectrum - from 5-year-olds to the retired. This has given me a very good insight and experience into the needs of every particular student.

I am a qualified teacher and I've taught in colleges, secondary schools and on a one-to-one basis. Since the rise and development of online tuition after 2019, I have also taught online both for schools and privately, and I am well acquainted to teach in this environment using a variety of platforms (Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom).

I also work for a large distance learning organisation as a free lance tutor of IGCSE and A Level. My teaching involves supporting students with their learning and also live online tuition on a one-to-one basis as well as groups.

I have been an AQA and a Pearson Edexcel examiner for GCSE and A Level Spanish for over 10 years and I am deeply acquainted with the old (2016) as well as the new (2024) GCSE Specifications.

Tutoring Approach:

I am naturally friendly and easy to work with. My approach is flexible, adaptable, and responsive to the individual's needs. My aim is to ensure progression and success at any level.

Personal Description:
I have recently moved from Scotland to northern Ireland (4 months ago). I am 50 years old and have 2 children.

On leaving school I worked in an office environment dealing with different issues- dealing with customers to running a payroll .

I then decided to go to university and study accountancy where I received a BA and then PGCE in secondary education (business education).

Teaching Experience:

I have 15 years teaching experience - teaching Business Management and Accounts from National 5 - Advanced Higher level. Although I have not taught GCSE or A level I have kept up to date with the subject contents of both Accounts and Business Management and feel that I have the necessary skills and experience to tutor in both of these areas.

In my 15 years as a Business education teacher I have tutored many pupils and have enjoyed working with young people on a one to one basis. I have been able to adapt and develop resources based on the individual pupils needs.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring would be solely based on the individual's needs. Building up a rapport with the student and identifying very quickly their needs.

Using my experience and skills in developing resources in both Accounts and Business Management, I would make the most efficient use of resources and time to plan the lesson for the student.

Personal Description:
I am 36 yrs old, happily married to my lovely wife Ren, and was born and raised in the United Kingdom.

I have a BEng (Hons) Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oxford Brookes University and have A-levels in Mathematics, Physics and Physical Education. My degree had numerous modules in advanced mathematics and physics, which I excelled at and deeply enjoyed. I informally tutored several of my friends and peers during university in Mathematics.

Following my graduation I secured a junior project engineering position at a company in the Oil and Gas Industry in 2007. I progressed into a project management role within 3 years of starting my career and I have subsequently been a Project Manager and Project management consultant for large engineering and construction companies in the Oil, Gas and Energy industries, including Schlumberger and Koch Industries. I have been a Project Manager in the industry for over 10 years and have managed numerous multi million pound projects for many large clients including Shell, Exxon Mobil, Centrica and Saudi Aramco. I am a Member of the Association of Project Management.

However, over the last few years I have become increasingly aware and concerned about the impact of my industry on climate change and I have become very interested in contributing to society in a more constructive manner. I have grown more interested in tutoring, in large part due to the positive impact i have seen my father have on his students - he has been a tutor in A-level Mathematics and Physics for the last 10 years, following his retirement from his engineering profession. And I feel I can have a similar positive impact on young people with my educational, professional and personal experience.

Teaching Experience:

I have 3 months of tutoring experience. However, my career as a Project Manager has required me to lead, mentor and train young project engineers and project managers on the principles of project management, work practices and their duties. This required me to impart, share and educate my younger, less experienced colleagues to better prepare them for their roles. So I am confident these skills and experience will serve me well with students and hold me in good stead to be a successful tutor.

Tutoring Approach:

The approach I take with tutoring will be the same as I do personally and professionally. In my personal life, with my wife, family and close friends, I stay true to my values of being caring, honest, respectful, kind, patient and genuinely interested in anything I can advise on or do that keeps our relationships harmonious and happy.

In my professional and working life, I always conduct myself with integrity, fairness and when necessary with respectful firmness to ethically guide and collaborate with my colleagues to achieve the best possible results for my projects. I take a purposeful, disciplined, hardworking approach in all my professional endeavours, but when appropriate will be light hearted and sincerely seek to cultivate good relationships with everyone I work closely with.

I intend to bring the above core values, principles and ways of working to my tutoring duties with the earnest hope of improving the knowledge and experience of my prospective students.

Qualifications:
BEng (Hons) Degree - Mechanical Engineering

Personal Description:
I'm a French student living in Edinburgh. I just graduated 2 licences, one in Film Studies and on in English literature. I also just finished 3 years of prep school. During those years, I was prepared to go into the highest French literature school. I specialised my studies into cinema during those 3 years. Therefore, I can teach everything related to art, literature and subjects that are close to it.

I'm really kind and like to know the people I'm teaching to. I like sports (Handball mostly), music (did 10 years of music school), reading and going to movies.

Teaching Experience:

I already teach music to younger students in my music school (4 years).
I used to tutor students thanks to a tutoring program in my prep school. (3 years)
I coached younger players during my latest handball years. (2 years)

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring depends on the age of the student. For example, for my youngest students, I like to play games to make them learn.
I don't mind repeating myself and know how to explain things in different ways.
My approach is to make increase skills by yourself by unlocking or deblocking things you thought you didn't understand.
I also give advices on how to review your course and learn your lesson. I'm great at giving advises for essays as I had to wrote one every week during 6h, during my prep school.
For every language's subject, I favour speaking and listening to oral comprehension in order to increase your skills.

Qualifications:
Cambridge certificate (C1 level)
Licence in English litterature and civilisation
Licence in Film Studies
