Personal Description: I lived in Tokyo for 7 years and taught ESL to a variety of ages from adults right down to nursery. I am TESOL certified in general ESL and also business English. Experienced in both online and in person teaching in both formal and casual settings. If you're looking for daily conversation practice, test preparation or English for specific subject, I can customise the lesson for your needs. In my 7 years of living in Tokyo, I worked my way up from absolutely zero Japanese to N1. I also acquired Japanese translation qualifications specialising in biological science and general science. I have been translating freelance for over two years through various platforms and with clients directly. The experience I have actually living in Japan can give students great cultural insights along with language lessons. After receiving my degree in biomedical sciences, I tutored high school students for a year. I ran a science in English program with my local school in Japan and am currently in teacher training to become a biology teacher. |
Teaching Experience: ESL: 5 years+ high school, 2 years+ adult, 1 year elementary school Japanese Language: 1 year sporadically Biology: 1 year GCSE, summer/winter course for high school students |
Tutoring Approach: To tailor classes to students strengths and needs. Getting to know students hobbies, interested, goals, strengths, weaknesses, preferences and personality is essential to tailoring classes. If a student , for example, loves art tailoring a class to involve more poster making, diagrams and pictures would be my aim. If a student is shy and not so confident in speaking their second language, choosing a setting with less people, more listening and shadowing in the beginning would be an aim to help build confidence. |

Personal Description: I'm a first year medical students with tutoring experience of 3 years. I did Biology Chemistry and Maths for A levels, achieving all high grades which enabled me to get into the medicine course. I've achieved all A's in GCSEs including in Maths, Sciences and both English Literature & Language. I know how stressful exam times are and I'd love to be able to teach individuals to help them achieve the best possible grades. I'm a flexible with times for lessons and is able to adjust to your requirements. |
Teaching Experience: I've been a tutor for the last three years varying from primary school all the way to GCSE. I teach Maths, Science and English. I started off tutoring in 2018 for a private tuition company aiming at kids applying to grammar schools. This was a fantastic way for me to understand kids strengths and weaknesses and it helped me get an insightful experience into Tutoring. After the company closed down for maintenance purposes I joined another tuition centre and taught a GCSE students, until I decided to become a private tutor. I've had the pleasure of seeing improvement in my students, and them reflecting my help through the best possible outcomes. I'm a student myself, I understand the pressure and work that goes into revision and I'd be honoured to be first point of contact for revision for individuals. |
Tutoring Approach: I first give every student an test, to see where they are, what needs improving and their strengths. This enables me to pre plan the tasks before every lessons and be sure that this is fit for the individual student. I ensure that I give some type of work to be completed after lessons so that students don't loose any great knowledge and revision that we've done. I go out of my way to make sure the student improves and confides in me with their revision. |

Personal Description: Hello my name is will and I am a music artist, songwriter, producer as well as a self protection and Combatives instructor. |
Teaching Experience: I have been making music my whole life and was self taught until I trained under a sound engineer and producer who is based in Canada who I now work for as his second on all of his projects, I handle all of his editing and a lot of his pre production as well as pre mixing and occasionally sing and record backing vocals for his artists. In terms of Self Protection and Combatives I have been teaching for a year after earning the honour of being an instructor of Urban Combatives under the legend Lee Morrison who is one of the worlds leading street self protection and Combatives instructors. Earning my certification with UC was a gruelling and incredibly difficult journey where I had to prove my self under extreme duress to make it through the final stress test. |
Tutoring Approach: Every student is different and so one size doesn't fit all! We all learn in different ways which is why it's best to cater to the individuals needs. With music the best approach for me personally was apprenticeship type learning on the job, this is dependent on the subject matter and skill set that is being taught. I am not a fan of endless presentations of a theoretical nature and find that creative projects often built around the students own music is the best way to learn the technical skills involved in sound engineering and music production, this keeps things creative and exciting. In terms of Self Protection and Combatives the key is the students willingness to learn, we all have different reasons for wanting to train the physical as well as the non physical elements of self protection. What I teach is principle based not technique based as fine motor skills do not hold up under the effects of adrenaline or fight stress which is why it must be simple and gross motor, Combatives is easy to learn, easy to install and dependable under stress. Unlike many self defence methods what I teach is designed so that you can walk out of your first lesson with skills which will serve you that day if you run into trouble, further development of the basic skill sets is Neccesary to develop combative efficiency but the foundations are laid very quickly. |
Qualifications:
I am self taught in music without qualifications |
Urban Combatives level 1 instructor |
