| Personal Description: I am a University of Southampton Graduate with Upper Second Class Honours in Mathematical Sciences in 2011. I love maths because it helps to practice our logical thinking and we need it everywhere in the world. |
Teaching Experience: I have over five years' experience privately tutoring maths with a variety of students at Primary, KS3, GCSE, A-Level. From my own experience as a maths undergraduate, and as a tutor, maths can be a daunting and difficult subject but with the right guidance and support to understand the material it can be incredibly engaging, rewarding and even fun! So I would like to teach and promote the interests of mathematics to my tutees. I tutored and mentored A Level students whilst at secondary school and assisting in maths lessons. |
Tutoring Approach: I am always patient and never loss my temper,so I believe everyone could get a high result after my tutoring. I take an individual tailored approach to each learner, based on their personality, learning style and needs, and I find an open and friendly style works best. I've worked with students who are struggling with understanding maths and students who are doing well but need an extra push to reach their full potential. When covering the wide range of topics. I provide tips and tricks for exams, homework to complete between sessions to check understanding (which I mark before the next session), and regular assessments - using up-to-date material from relevant exam boards - to help the student and their parents understand where we are with progress. I am committed to teaching, sharing knowledge and helping others, and really enjoy tutoring as my enthusiasm, intellectual curiosity and passion for interacting with people is put to good use. |

| Personal Description: I am an experienced sociology tutor and proofreader having taught in the sociology department at the University of Warwick for four years and also for a short while in the School of Languages and Social Sciences at the University of Aston. (I can also tutor at this level in modern history, politics and international relations). I have BA in sociology and politics from Oxford Brookes University and an MSc in social science research methods from Sussex. I completed my doctorate at the University of Warwick. In addition to my university work, I have tutored for a private agency (where I held an advanced CRB certificate) at A-level in sociology, politics and modern history. My last DBS was held from 2023 to 2024. I have a good record of helping A-level students to achieve the grades they require for a place in higher education and I have continued this success whilst tutoring independently. I live in Marlborough, Wiltshire. At A-level I am happy to help with essay writing and subject research and prep for exams. Please contact me early in your studies though (early in the academic year, as early intervention has greater rewards...).For undergraduates, I can offer advice on essay and dissertation construction and also on writing style and format. Additionally, I can help to formulate ideas for research projects and can proof read long or short drafts. I charge £50 per week for ongoing students - A-level or undergraduate - one-off jobs are charged according to the complexity of work - I do not charge hourly. I take payment in advance. |
Teaching Experience: I have tutored at A-level and taught at undergraduate level for 7 years. I also worked as a sessional lecturer at Aston University for a year. |
Tutoring Approach: My approach to tutoring is simple: I help to give students the skills and knowledge they require to achieve their goals in education. |
