Teaching Experience:
I currently teach adults from beginners to advanced and prepare local students for their GCSE, IGCSE or A-levels. Tutoring Approach:
I adapt my teaching methods to the needs of the tutee: adults learn differently from teenagers, one is focused on conversation while the others are quite honestly more focused on passing an exam ;)
I'll try to follow as much as possible what is done in the classroom if the child already has French at school. Otherwise, I'll adapt my lessons to what the parents are expecting from me (whether the child's parents are French and would like their child to discover French litterature for example). I can also create lessons for a special objectives like spending holidays in France with friends and family we'll then concentrate on specific vocabulary and situations.
For adults: there again it all depends what you expect from those lessons. Do you already have some prior knowledge of the language or not? Do you have some specific objectives like buying a house in France or spending your holidays there? I'll adapt to your needs. We may most likely concentrate on vocabulary and situations and include grammar in as we go along.

I have lived in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire in the United Kingdom since December 2009. I am originally from Kumamoto, where I completed a training course at the EII Japanese Language Centre. I have now been teaching Japanese to students of all levels for nearly ten years.

I begin by introducing essential sentence patterns and teaching how to use them in practise conversations. I use role-play to make the conversations real and teach how to speak Japanese naturally. The FameLab competition gave me a chance to inform large groups of people about my chosen scientific topic. I gave multiple talks within my school and also at the University of Hull in the Allam medical building.
During my education, I would often find myself clarifying points to my fellow students which they didn't grasp first time.
During my time working on NCS, a large part of my role was to get participants of all different backgrounds and interests involved and this is something which is heavily applicable to tutoring.

My experience with FameLab taught me charisma, which I believe is invaluable when teaching students. I am a highly motivated and capable mathematics graduate of the University of Cambridge and the University of Warwick working full-time as a maths tutor, teaching mostly A/AS Level, STEP, and MAT with some GCSE. I get along well with students using a friendly enthusiastic manner and patient guidance, allowing me to engage them in a subject that many (sadly) find difficult or tedious to deal with. I've had significant success helping students to see why this subject is exciting and beautiful as well as extremely useful. Passing a maths exam can be stressful and overwhelming at times. With my help a student can learn not just all the material they need, but also efficient, reliable and (most importantly) intuitive approaches to thinking about the topics/problems.
