Personal Description: I am passionate about teaching languages, mostly orientals, and also coaching martial arts and self defence. I coach the IWTA-EWTO-WingTsun 梁挺詠春拳. In the first 12 weeks of the beginners program you'll learn the basics for a proactive and "pre-emptive" self defence and to deal with the most "common" types of attacks. This is the Blitz-Defence program. Afterward you start a more sophisticated training program where you learn to deal with an aggressor in a less violent way by using our unique tactile skills training method. I can assure you, you will terminate every lesson by learning something new and useful! All I need is your concentration. Due to the contact nature of this martial art I cam only teach in person and not online |
Teaching Experience: Currently tutoring Italian (advanced level) and Japanese (basic level) in all the 4 skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking). January 2012 - PRESENT: I have been teaching Italian language since January 2012 on 1-2-1 base and via skype when I am abroad. February 2012 - April 2012: I taught Japanese language for absolute beginners via skype. April 2010 - February 2012: I taught at The Mill Languages School, in Macclesfield town centre: Mandarin, Japanese, German. In particular I have taught German language to a tailored group to refresh their skills. August 2015 - 2016. Tutoring Japanese language to beginner level via skype. I taught to school teachers who are planning to travel to Japan and teach English, they need a minimum fluency to go by. ....however; nothing can beat the experience I have matured over these past 2 years. I need your full committment over a term period (3 months). I need a quite learning environment where I can focus on your progress; either a public library or my house; coffee shop may work depending on the time we agree. |
Tutoring Approach: I am based in Macclesfield and I teach in an informal and yet methodical way; I can teach colloquial and formal languages. As for martial art for self-defence (WingTsun Kungfu 梁挺詠春拳) I have been teaching privately at different venues. Each 1-2-1 class has to be booked. I combine the Kungfu system with my experience in working with body awareness and body technique at contact. This is a very diverse method of teaching in comparison to the mainstream as it involves not just the purely choreographic aspect but a more comprehensive. |

Personal Description: After graduating from the University of Foreign Languages in 2000, with a major in English and French, I started teaching English as a foreign language to secondary school students. In 2011 I obtained my QTS and I have been teaching in London primary schools ever since. |
Teaching Experience: Over the years I had to work with pupils having different levels of knowledge of the subject. In order to achieve my teaching goals I had to plan levelled lessons and prepare examinations in accordance with the students' level. I had to use a variety of teaching techniques and activities to make the lessons more attractive, so as to involve all the students. The use of ICT has proved to be very successful among young people who are eager to use the computer in class as often as they can. My lessons have thus become more dynamic and the assessment process easier. Having extensive experience both in primary and secondary teaching, I developed the ability to manage students of varying levels while meeting rigorous performing standards and demanding schedules. I encourage learning by using a number of different creative hands-on activities, and various forms of technology. By incorporating class discussions, open-ended questions, and cooperative learning I am able to facilitate a highly interactive and inquisitive class environment. As far as the assessment process is concerned, I use day-to-day assessment so that I make sure the students have understood the lesson. I usually begin my classes with a few questions related to the items previously discussed to check understanding and address misconceptions. In addition, I use weekly book marking and monthly assessments in order to identify the strengths and weaknesses of my students and the points that need correction. In order to do that I created collections of revision materials aimed at improving the students' achievements. The regular tests I give the students enable me to track their progress, locate areas of weakness, and prepare them for final exams. |
Tutoring Approach: My passion and enthusiasm for shaping young minds is also reflected in the time I took in tutoring students of different age groups, in Maths, English, French and the subjects required to pass the 11+ exam (English, maths, verbal and non-verbal reasoning). After an initial assessment session with the student (be it for 11+, SATs or just filling in the gaps), I have an understanding of the areas we need to address and together with the parent we set a time frame to achieve our targets, depending on the needs of the individual child. Over the last years I have successfully tutored children for SAT exams and 11+ exams and the excellent results they obtained were the best reward as a tutor. |

Personal Description: I am a student at GCSE level and would like to help younger children become more confident in their work, if this is teaching them new skills or reassuring them on knowledge they already know. |
Teaching Experience: I have previously done online tutoring for primary school children. |
Tutoring Approach: My approach is to do whatever the student wants. If the student doesn't have anything for ready for that lesson I am willing to teach them something new or just revise and revisit old topics which they may not feel very confident in. |

Personal Description: I am a current Civil Servant, so I deal with the topics that I tutor in on a daily basis. For my undergraduate degree I studied Politics and Sociology at the University of Warwick. I then went on to achieve a Distinction grade in my Masters degree from SOAS, University of London, in a degree that focused on international relations, diplomacy, world politics, economics and international security. I also write for an online magazine at times, on topics such as politics and philosophy (especially ethics). |
Teaching Experience: I do not have 1-2-1 teaching experience. However, I did teach English to a class of 30 accountancy students in the University of Havana (Cuba) some years ago, and I have a lot of experience in instructing junior colleagues in topics that are relevant to those that I will be tutoring in. |
Tutoring Approach: I enjoy speaking to people about topics of interest and am able to help people of all ages and backgrounds develop their knowledge in the topics that I am knowledgeable on. I intend to make my lessons conversational and problem-oriented, identifying areas in the students' knowledge that need to work and proceeding to explain the detail of the area and intersections between different points of view in a way that will lead them to grasp the topic fully and be able to identify and defend their own views. |

Batchelor's Degree in Politics and Sociology, University of Warwick - Grade: 2:1 |
