| Personal Description: Hello!! My name is James and I am currently doing an undergraduate degree in Applied Linguistics with Teaching English as a Secondary or Other Language. Once I have completed this degree I will be starting a masters in TESOL with a focus on second language acquisition. As well as this degree, I have also completed a CELTA qualification as well as an accredited 120 hour TEFL qualification. I have travelled to many countries across Europe which has enabled me to have a deep appreciation of different cultures, as well as understanding how difficult it can be to learn a language. I am a native English speaker with a (mostly) neutral accent. |
Teaching Experience: I have been teaching private one-to-one lessons for over a year with a variety of students with different needs. These include IELTS preparation, Cambridge Certificate preparation as well as general conversation practice among many other various needs |
Tutoring Approach: All lessons will be tailored to your needs as the learner. I drive which means I am available to travel to your house or you are welcome to my home for lessons there. We can also meet in a neutral place, for example, a library or coffee shop. My tutoring approach is to have lessons which are fun, engaging and informative using a communicative approach. |

| Personal Description: I have a Physics degree from Cambridge and still maintain an active and deep interest in the subject. Among my hobbies is close harmony singing - I run a mixed local singing group and have travelled widely in pursuit of musical excellence. I also appreciate the countryside and am happy to live, and walk, in a beautiful part of our country. |
Teaching Experience: My introduction to tutoring came through successfully helping my sons through their A-levels in Maths, Further Maths and Physics. The experience inspired me to look into tutoring as an alternative occupation, and, for the last couple of years, I have been pleased to take on other students. I now work part-time in software development but love teaching and find tutoring very rewarding. Generally, most of my students are working their way through their A-levels but I can also help out up to University level, either with preparation for entrance exams (e.g PAT, NSAA, STEP), or with some of the topics encountered in Maths / Physics / Engineering courses. I also do occasional work at GCSE level in these subjects. |
Tutoring Approach: I like to treat students as individuals with differing needs. For some the key is to develop a solid understanding - subject knowledge tends to build on itself, and those who miss basic points in class can often find themselves slipping behind, feeling lost and not able to cope. For others, it involves digging deeper into the subject to perhaps make connections that weren`t at first apparent. At all levels, I have found that guided questioning and encouraging students to think through their own difficulties is very effective. It is very pleasing to see the spark of light when an idea hits home. And once the basics are established, of course, the key to success is practice, and the development of exam technique. Please feel free to get in touch via the UK Tutors messaging service. |

| Personal Description: Hello. We've taken the traditional guitar class and turned it on its head with a range of lessons, courses, jams and events that have entertained and developed thousands of guitar players, just like you. We aren't just about scales, theory and solitary practice (although we do encourage all of those things) We're about the magic that happens when musicians meet. Everything we do is done from our bar/music venue. We also stream all of our classes so that people all over the world can still take part. All our learners get to know each other. Our purpose-built venue in East London is our hub where we host classes, run events, serve food and drinks and make musical connections. See you in a session soon. |
Teaching Experience: Thomas has over a decade of experience teaching guitar to a range of learners - from experienced musicians looking to fine-tune their skills, to visually impaired individuals, to students just taking their first steps on their guitar journey. He has taught in schools, prisons, on boats and in the street. Thomas has delivered over 7,000 hours of classes to over 2,000 people. |
Tutoring Approach: Learning through the music that you love. A focus on theory and the more academic side of things, as well as on confidence in performing, writing your own music, playing with others, and harnessing the joy of making music. We run a range of courses and one-off teaching events - we can help you find one that is perfect for your level and interests. |
