Personal Description:
I have studied Spanish since 11 at my secondary school Haberdashers Askes, initially I sat Spanish for GCSE and from that point I knew I wanted to be able to speak it fluently. Thus I continued my study of Spanish through to AS and A-Level. I was not satisified with my level of Spanish and decided I wanted to further it by studying it at university as part of a joint honours course. Whilst as part of my course I spent a year abroad living in Barcelona, and studying at the University of Barcelona passing all modules. I returned to England for my final year of study achieving a 2:1 classification in Business and Spanish before setting off to Mexico for 2 months in my summer. I currently work at an advertising based company frequently employing my Spanish speaking skills

Teaching Experience:

I have had limited teaching experience yet one of my success stories is teaching both my brother and uncle Spanish, who have recently both attained an A* grade at GCSE - my uncle after leaving school 22 years ago and my brother 5 years ago at 16. I have also tutored several foreign students at university in Spanish in order to help them with their modules and coursework.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a patient person who is willing to give a lot of time and effort up if the student is willing to learn and wants to develop their skills. I am more than happy to help with any homework or coursework providing the student views it as an opportunity to further their grammar and knowledge of th language

Personal Description:
I am a young passionate camera operator and photographer with a wide range of both commercial and artistic experience. Approachable I am enthusiastic about both photography and teaching.

Still practicing in the field I am constantly immersed in camera technology and am always finding new ways to tell stories through visual mediums. I have worked on professional photoshoots for magazine publications and know what the industry standards are.

I specialise in both film & digital photography, and try to cover both of these in my lessons.

Portfolio of work available on

Teaching Experience:

I have over a years teaching experience with a few students. These students have gone from never picking up a camera before to becoming passionate photographers themselves.

My teaching style shifts from student to student, I find out what my students are passionate about and guide their passion.
I also have strong understanding of GCSE and A-Level syllabus and what students need to achieve to get a good grade.

Tutoring Approach:

I tend to cover two main subjects when I teach photography; technicality and art. I believe when both of these are taught and explored properly, you are able to understand photography on a better level.

When it comes to technicality I have a very hands on approach to teaching. I believe the best way to learn these skills is to physically immerse yourself in technology and play around with different types of lenses, filters, cameras etc. I also provide very clear and detailed handouts, as I find all the information can't be absorbed in an hours session.

Personal Description:
Hi, my name is Danielle and I just love English! I strive to foster a love of and appreciation for Literature in my students. A friendly, highly experienced teacher of English, I love helping keen learners grow in confidence, ultimately achieving the highest standards they can. I will use my genuine passion for the written word and excellent academic subject knowledge to tailor my teaching to your current needs.

Teaching Experience:

Over the past sixteen years I have been privileged to have been able to help hundreds upon hundreds of young learners develop their enjoyment, skills and confidence in English Language and English Literature, and therefore achieve success. I have experience of a variety of educational settings, including the state sector as well as the independent, and teach the full secondary age range - from Key Stage 3 through to A Level.
As a current examiner of GCSE Literature and with past experience examining different specifications for GCSE Language, GCSE Literature and AS Level Language & Literature, I have an extensive knowledge and understanding of what is required to secure good grades.
Other positions I have held have been Head of Year, Head of Drama, Literacy Across the Curriculum and Assistant Faculty Lead.

Tutoring Approach:

I really believe that writing for a purpose motivates potential authors, so last year I submitted the work of over five hundred young people to a number of writing competitions: some reached the higher rounds (BBC 500 Words), one entrant reached the final (Wicked Young Writers) and over seventy had their entries published. In order to get you excited about your writing, I would seek similar opportunities for you to show off your enhanced skills after some lessons on crafting writing! Did you know that great writers grow from great readers? To further develop your expertise in English, I will encourage you to read more widely by setting challenges to broaden your literary diet.

Personal Description:
I am a second year Classics student at UCL, and the Benn Morris Scholar for Classics at Charterhouse School as well as the winner of the Palamountain Prize for Classics. I have a huge passion for reading , creative writing and history, and I'm actually in the process of writing my own novel. I have done Latin and Greek for 10 years, achieving 9's in my GCSE's and A*'s in multiple A-levels, so I am more than equipped to teach these subjects at the highest level. I also possess a deep interest of Roman history and Greek mythology so I can assure any prospective students in Greek or Latin that they will gain a wide knowledge beyond the core subject as well. In terms of creative writing and essay writing and any sort of English or History requirements, I achieved 9s in those subjects, as well as a A* in my EPQ, so teaching these topics would be both a pleasure and something I am capable of.

Teaching Experience:

In terms of teaching experience, I started tutoring more than three years ago now, and many of my students have gone on to achieve excellent results and placements in schools. I am intimately acquainted with the private school entrance exams, having obtained academic scholarships to both Trinity and Whitgift, as well as an academic and Classics scholarship to Charterhouse, one of the most prestigious schools in the country. I have tutored more than 15 children at 11+ level, all of whom went on to achieve placements in grammar schools such as Wallington , Wilson's and Sutton Grammar School. I have tutored many more students at GCSE level for English, who have all gone on to receive 8's and 9's, while learning a lot about essay writing and creative writing that will stand them in good stead at uni level as well. In terms of the more eclectic subjects I teach, along with English, these are my real passions, Greek, Latin and History. I have received students in Latin GCSE who came to me months before the exam on a 3 and they received 9's in the end. In terms of these three subjects, especially at GCSE level, I can almost guarantee that students I tutor in them will receive 9's, thanks to my excellent knowledge of the subject, and my possession of great resources which really helps make these subjects a lot clearer.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to my tutoring is diligent and draws on the three years of tutoring experience I have learned from and the 15 years of experience I have in the English schooling system, which I excelled in at all stages. Although I might seem young for a tutor, I have always found this as a benefit because I am able to connect easier with the students, and as I wrote my exams only a few years ago, I have a more involved and intimate experience of them than older tutors might, able to recognise where exactly students are going wrong based on my own memories. Furthermore, the course has not changed in English, Latin, Greek and History since I wrote my exams at GCSE, so I will be able to share my own methods of success with my pupils. I like to make the learning fun at all levels, from my younger pupils to my older ones, and I already possess experience in teaching all of these different subjects to various age groups, so with my younger students I try to foster a love for reading and regale them more with clever facts and anecdotes, while with my older students I still smoke the subject interesting while teaching them the syllabus in a diligent and thorough manner. I love all of the subjects I teach and I try my best to make my students love them as well, while equipping them with everything they need to excel in their exams, sometimes beyond even their own imagination.
