Within the first session, I discover the individual needs of my learners, their strengths and weaknesses. Then I devise a plan to address the whole programme of study within the number of weeks available, so no topic is ignored. I work simultaneously on exam requirements, but also on skill development, skills that the student can benefit from, outside the boundaries of a specific exam format. Students find themselves forgetting the time, often engrossed in their work, mentally challenged and stimulated. I set short homework at times, so that students can practise independently on those skills they develop with me, being reassured that they can transfer those skills further. The opportunity to teach both my Technical craft and Autocad has arisen more by accident than design for most of my Professional career. I am led to believe that I have a natural ability in engaging interest, particularly in younger people through a combination of both my communication skills and technical ability. This produces immediate rewards in contrast to the often lengthy process of Project work which can easily dilute job satisfaction.
I believe a fundamental part of Teaching is the ability to speak the language of the pupil - more esoteric now than ever before. Understanding and respecting their language and culture enhances the learning process and contributes to mutual satisfaction and success.

Teaching Experience:
In the 1970's and 80's my employers ; Bain, Swan Architects had a healthy Apprenticeship policy. Throughout this period, they recruited locally in conjunction with colleges in Galashiels and Ashington. I was asked if I would consider mentoring the Office's Apprentice Technicians due to my apparent communication skills and technical ability. I enjoyed this auxiliary role, particularly, as it frequently engaged me in improving my own technical education to answer their endless questions. The tuition procedure had the additional benefit of enhancing the Practice's hand-drawn presentation work through educating the apprentices in the provision of accurate, informative and harmonious drawings. This was a flair which I had developed over the years in pre-computer times and employ to this day whenever possible, despite the icy perfections of Autocad.

Working in London in the late 1990's I was invited to teach many aspects of my craft in to JJA Academy pupils in night classes.These were generally foreign students to whom I provided additional Autocad tuition, hand drafting techniques and Installation construction. I discovered that the judicious use of sketches and diagrams easily demolished any language barriers. Encouraged by the senior lecturers my confidence developed in this supplementary role.
With Wintersgill Faulkner in 1999 I was invited to create and teach a dedicated layering system in Autocad to improve the Practice's presentation output. The younger members of staff had a fairly haphazard approach to defining different materials which made their work difficult to read both on-screen and on the plotted drawings - even if it was generally correct.The principle I employed was based upon the old British Standard conventions for : colouring drawings, hatching and line density. It is rewarding to know that the same CTB file is still their standard office practice 10 years later.

My tutoring method is a creative and co-operative approach with the student, and family when appropriate.

Each student's academic needs are different, as are their learning styles.

Personal Description:
I'm a senior university lecturer who has been teaching Sociology at degree level since 1995. I have a degree (first class) and Phd in Sociology. In addition to university lecturing, I have 24 years experience marking and moderating A level Sociology papers for the AQA exam board.
I believe my teaching style is motivational, relaxed and most of all fun! I encourage creative approaches to learning, with a focus on what the student can bring to the learning process. I also have a detailed knowledge of Sociology, not only teaching the subject for over 20 years, but as a research active, published sociologist myself.

Teaching Experience:
Senior lecturer in Sociology: Liverpool Hope University: 1995-2007

Senior lecturer in Social Care: Wrexham Glyndwr University: 2007-present (part time) teaching Sociology (programme leader), Social Work, and Politics.

Tutoring Approach:
Student centred, with a strong emphasis on the skills, knowledge and experiences that the student already has. I am able to break down complex, difficult ideas into something that makes sense to the learner, and pride myself on my ability to create confident, critical thinkers in my students. I am particularly skilled in working with students who lack confidence, and are underachieving, in addition to pushing the most able students beyond the results they are currently achieving.

I am delighted to report that results obtained in summers 2022 and 2023 A level AQQ examinations in Sociology resulted in my tutees moving up from the predicted grades (D to a C, B to an A, A to an A*).

Personal Description:
Teaching is my passion and I am attached to this noble profession since 2010. I engaged myself with students of undergraduate and postgraduate in a manner where they can learn theoretical as well as practical application of the subject. Now a days I am in Nottingham and doing PhD in Economics. Beside teaching in Nottingham Trent University, I have some time in which I want to involve myself in teaching online or home tuition.
I can teach courses related to Economics, Business and Statistics including theoretical and quantitative courses upto Masters level.
I can assist in projects, thesis writing, mathematical and econometric modeling , Business math, business statistics , game theoryand in research writing.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching since 2010 in different international educational institutes. I worked as lecturer in one of the highly reputed International university in Pakistan for 7 years. Later on I moved to Oman and joined a post graduate college as lecturer. Now a days I am lecturing in Nottingham Trent University.

Tutoring Approach:
I prefer to provide a friendly approach to my students so that they feel comfortable to ask questions. Working in friendly environment with student can provide them opportunity to overcome the areas or subject where they are lacking behind.
I prefer to to do counselling with teaching so that my students gain confidence that they can perform best in their assessments and can improve their grades.
