I'm a maths tutor based in Hounslow, London, with about a year of experience working with young people. Most of my work has been one-to-one and in small groups, through ChalkDuster, Brunel University London, and Queen Mary University of London.

I mainly teach math to KS2, KS3, and KS4 GCSE students. A lot of what I do is help students with topics they've struggled with in class and explain things in a different way until it finally clicks for them. Right now I'm working as a teaching assistant with Queen Mary University of London on their outreach program. I run maths sessions for KS3 and KS4 students and visit partner schools to support students one-to-one and in small groups. I mostly help them work through topics they've found tricky in class. Working alongside the lead tutors has taught me a lot about planning a lesson, managing a room, and keeping students engaged when the maths gets harder.

Every student is different, so the first thing I do is work out where they're at and where the gaps are. Once I understand that, I can adjust how I teach to suit them.

I like to keep sessions relaxed. A lot of students feel anxious about math or think they're "just not good at it," so I try to make it okay to get things wrong. Subsequently I will enrol you into an online classroom designed for uploading resources, submitting homework and receiving specific feedback on it. The next step is our first lesson, where you will have a very active role and get practice, tips and continuous feedback. Following I will set you targeted homework to cement your knowledge. If after the first lesson you are not fully satisfied, you will get all the lesson fee back.

Tutoring Approach:
I firmly believe that the majority of teachers and schools/colleges do their best to help their students. However, many students have weaknesses especially in their written work. To gain high grades students need to be able to analyse, apply and evaluate their knowledge but those skills are often not developed by their school or college. However, my experience and individually focused sessions can remedy this and as a result my students soon are making far better responses to essay questions, data response and case studies than before they started tuition. As confidence grows I work with my students to help them achieve consistent high grades and a very pleasing final grade.

Personal Description:
I am passionate about languages and enthusiastic about teaching language. I teach Italian and English as a foreign language to all levels and learning purposes. Before being a teacher I was a student myself and I understand how difficult can be to learn a foreign language. My lessons are tailored according to my students' needs, learning styles and personalities.

Teaching Experience:
I am a qualified teacher specialised in Modern Languages (PGCE with QTS). I have been teaching and tutoring for several years. I had the opportunity to teach in different contexts, cultures and to different ages and levels. I have taught Italian to individual students and corporate clients with different language requirements and purposes. I have also conducted a preparation course for Italian GCSE and A level exams in schools across London. Previously, I taught English (EFL) to high school students and to primary school teachers in Italy. Courses included preparation for Cambridge English language examinations.

Tutoring Approach:
Some students come to me feeling unconfident and generally struggle to remember grammar rules or vocabulary, some others may not feel confident to express themselves. This is why I ensure my lessons are always motivating and fun!
I use a communicative approach where my students take active part in the lesson through understanding, thinking, eliciting and producing. My role as a teacher is to guide them through their learning process, considering their learning styles and personalities and making sure they always feel comfortable and engaged. Some activities I use include role plays, games and situational activities. Finally, one of my main goals as a teacher is to enable my students to enjoy the
experience of communicating, thinking and reacting in a foreign language.
