Although I learned all my foreign languages through a rigorous method very much based on writing and grammar, I am happy to adapt my method to my pupil's needs. Anastasia is a aviolinist, originally from Greece. Anastasia started playing the violin from the age of 6 years old. In 2006 she entered the State Conservatory of Music in Greece, where she graduated from in June 2015 with the Greek National Diploma on Violin performance, winning the 1st prize and a 'virtuosity' award. She holds the distinction of being the conservatoire's youngest violin-graduate ever. While she was studying at the State Conservatory of Music she has has been the leader of the Conservatory's Youth Symphony Orchestra between 2009-2014.

Anastasia moved to London in 2015 and started her Bachelor studies in Music at the Royal Academy of Music, where she studies with professor Richard Deakin. She is currently doing her final year as an undergraduate student at the Academy, expecting to obtain her degree from the university in 2019.

As a student at the Royal Academy of Music, Anastasia has participated in numerous concerts as a soloist, in violin- piano duos and chamber music concerts. She has also been a member of the RAM's Symphony Orchestra performing some of the orchestral masterpieces under Sir-Mark Elder, Semyon Bychkov, Jack van Steen and Robert Trevino.

Being a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) for 4 years, Anastasia has performed throughout Europe under Bernard Haitink, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Vasily Petrenko, Gianandrea Noseda, Xian Zhang and Krysztof Urbansky in many prestigious concert halls including BBC Proms, Konzerthaus- Berlin and the Royal Concertgebouw- Amsterdam, among others.

Tutoring Approach:
The lessons are tailored to meet the students' needs. I usually apply the Communicative approach in my lessons. But it won't suit some students. In this case, I will rethink the methodology. That's why prior to choosing any strategies, I will offer a free appointment to discuss students' aspirations and establish their Portuguese level. We then agree on a program of study which matches their goals, frequency of lessons, and their starting ability. The lesson plan will be updated every 3 to 6 months.

Teaching Experience:
I've had the chance to teach in a variety of settings, from large groups to one-on-one sessions. For a year, I taught English to a class of 33 first-year law students, designing lessons that focused on the specific language skills they needed in a legal context. I created activities to improve both their written and oral comprehension and regularly assigned homework, which they'd send to me for corrections and feedback.

I also taught a smaller group of 15 students twice a week for a year. This gave me the chance to connect with them more individually and adapt my lessons to their needs.

For the past two years, I've been working with individual students once or twice a week, depending on their goals and level of independence. Each lesson is tailored to their needs, with structured exercises and tasks to help them improve their written and spoken skills. I always make sure to provide regular feedback so they can track their progress and stay motivated.

Tutoring Approach:
I design every lesson to fit each student's unique needs, using a learner-focused approach grounded in proven language acquisition techniques. In our first session, I take time to understand their strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. From there, I create a structured learning plan tailored to their specific goals-whether it's building conversational fluency, mastering legal vocabulary, or preparing for exams.

To make learning engaging and effective, I use active strategies like task-based exercises, spaced repetition for vocabulary retention, and scenario-based activities that help students apply their skills in real-life situations. I also create personalized vocabulary quizzes on Quizlet, so students can practice key terms at their own pace and reinforce what they've learned. After obtaining a Distinction in Special Level History, I decided to study Law, receiving offers from several top universities including University College London and Birmingham. I graduated from the prestigious law school of King's College London with a 2:1 Bachelor of Laws LLB (Hons). The postgraduate Legal Practice Course followed at the College of Law, Chester where I achieved a Commendation. I successfully completed a training contract with a London firm, including accreditation with the University of Cardiff as a Police Station Representative. Please note I am not currently a solicitor so cannot provide you with legal advice, nor, unfortunately, assist you upon arrest! However, I would be delighted to help you with your legal studies and exams with conscientious, tailor-made tuition and the benefit of my academic and professional experience.

Teaching Experience:
I have enjoyed a varied career in law and criminal justice, and have over five years of experience in tutoring. This has included National Probation Service trained tutoring in accredited courses, lead tutoring on an award-winning course for the Trafford area teaching psycho-social and employability skills, and even, for over two years (inspired initially by the Pandemic!), teaching English, one-to-one, online to students of all ages and from all over the world. I am now a dedicated tutor in my subject specialism of Law.

Tailored, one-to-one support in Law, specialising in A Level. I tutor exclusively online (so no need to be local!) and classes are typically one hour in duration. I truly believe revision and examination techniques are skills in themselves and as such, can be developed to often significantly improve grades.

I have a friendly and empathetic style. I enjoy helping students to simplify the complex, adopt a methodical approach to application scenarios and evaluation questions, and to feel calm and confident approaching exams.
