Personal Description:
I have studied up to Masters level including a post graduate teaching qualification; my main subject being biology. Throughout my studies and research maths has played an important role and I have taught maths and science privately at various times during my career.
Due to the Coronavirus situation, I am offering tutoring via googlemeets. Also, I am considerably reducing my charges. THESE REDUCED FEES ARE FOR ONLINE SESSIONS ONLY.
Therefore, if, in the future, you should require me to visit for lessons, we would have to discuss repricing
I am presently offering a half price first lesson with no commitment required for further lessons.
Please note that I do ask for a small payment towards travel for students outside of Kidderminster.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught voluntarily to adults with special learning needs, and privately for spells during my career. I have also given my services on a voluntary basis to young people's groups, assisting in a wide range of subjects from arts to sciences.
I am happy to conduct lessons at alternative venues, such as libraries and grandparents homes.

Tutoring Approach:
My unique selling point I consider to be my attitude towards young people. I continue to develop an approach which is based on respect and empathy. Each child is an individual and requires an individual approach. Many young people lack confidence, and my aim, by patience and acceptance is to reassure and inspire.
For each student I would hope to work out a programme of study based on the student's wishes. From the many resources available, we would work out what suits the student best. Where the student is comfortable with parental involvement, I would actively encourage this.
