I particularly help A-Level Chemistry students stuck on a B/C grade who understand the content but struggle in exams to write A/A* answers through structured exam technique training. Each session focuses on 3 things:
1. Solidifying concepts: We focus on difficult topics that the student has identified as weak areas.
2. Mark scheme language: Students learn exactly how examiners award marks and how to structure answers for optimal marks.
3. Exam application: We practise past paper questions, applying learned techniques and analyse mistakes.

This approach helps students translate understanding into marks.
My 1:1s are suitable for students with specific topic weaknesses, deadlines for re-sits, need mock/assessment reviews, as it is student-led. I also run hybrid group sessions with 1:1 support.

All sessions are recorded for playback and include:
• High level exam questions
• Mark scheme analysis
• Personal feedback on common mistakes made.

Personal Description:
My interest in music began at primary school. I took instrumental lessons in flute and vocal tuition at the early age of 7 and piano aged 10. After quickly becoming involved in choirs, orchestras and solo performances I managed to achieve two music scholarships into two Independent schools.

Currently aged 21, I am a recent Music graduate from Bath Spa University. My studies included Opera, Singing, Composition, Performance, Musicology and Community Music. I have covered an extensive variety of repertoire, on all instruments, and performed on a number of occasions. Performances have taken place at St. Peters Basilica, The Pantheon, St. Peters Square, Bath Abbey, Wells Cathedral, Corsham Court, St Michaels Without, Worcester Cathedral, Bath Assembly Rooms and low key events such as termly school concerts and voluntary performances to the elderly.

Alongside teaching, I am interested in providing music-making workshops to local schools. I am also in discussion with the Worcestershire communities, to provide singing sessions for the elderly. Singing provides great enjoyment to many people, and working with community choirs is another factor of teaching I am interested in, as choral music is another great passion of mine. I enjoy composing new music and was honoured with having a recent Christmas composition performed in Bath Abbey's carol service.

Teaching Experience:
Alongside my studies, I have taught mainly piano to a handful of students. I enjoy teaching and consequently on the lookout for any new pupils of all abilities, who are seeking tuition.

Tutoring Approach:
I am passionate about teaching, and believe it's important that all lessons are fun and enjoyable for any pupil. Lesson's include a variety of activities in order to aid different learning styles, from listening to cd's, learning basic music theory and using colour to brighten up scores. For young beginners, I think that it is important to keep in touch with parents, so write in a notepad on a weekly basis about what practice is required for improvement.

I have achieved a first class degree in Accounting and Business Management. Since then, I have set up my own tutoring business. I am great with children and I find it easy to relate to struggles and problems that they may be facing in school. I aim to help improve student's ability in Maths and where applicable offer transferable skills that could be useful in other subjects.

Teaching Experience:
I have experience of teaching in summer schools in East London to children aged 5-17. I have also had work experience in Shooter's Hill Sixth Form teaching GCSE Maths. For the last six years I have helped guide students to passing the 11+, achieving great results at their Year 6 SATs and building confidence in students that were not fond of Maths prior to meeting me. My approach to teaching Maths is locating areas of where there is lack of understanding and building foundation from there. The most common problem is that some concepts have not been understood and therefore the student cannot go further until it is understood. I am an Arabic linguistics PhD student at the Language and Linguistic Science Department of the University of York, UK. I hold a BA in English literature and linguistics as well as an MA in translation studies. My study makes me familiar with written Arabic and spoken Arabic in its different forms (dialects). This is why I am quite familiar with Egyptian, Syrian, Lebanese, Gulf and Sudanese Arabic. I find that most students are capable of learning the content of the GCSE or A level syllabus, can remember the main concepts, but struggle to write a coherent A grade essay. If this is your weakness, then I will focus on developing your essay writing skills and I have lots of resources which I use to do this.
I understand that some of the economics and business concepts can be quite complex and some of the diagrams challenging, so I will be very patient with you and will make sure you fully understand every topic in the syllabus. I will stretch and challenge you to make sure that you stay at the top of your game and I will use materials appropriate to your ability.
