Personal Description:

I am a current secondary Mandarin teacher in an Ofsted Outstanding school in London with over 15 years of teaching experience. I currently teach Mandarin and have extensive experience working with students of different ages and abilities, from beginners through to advanced learners.

I specialise in GCSE, A-Level, IGCSE and HSK Mandarin, and I am passionate about helping students develop both their confidence and their enjoyment of the language.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 15 years of experience teaching Mandarin in secondary schools in London, with extensive experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations. I also teach IGCSE and HSK Mandarin and have worked with students from a wide range of backgrounds and ability levels.

As a current classroom teacher, I understand the demands of the UK examination system and know how to help students improve their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, as well as their exam technique.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring is tailored to each student's individual needs, level and goals. I aim to make lessons engaging, structured and supportive while ensuring that students make clear progress.

For exam students, I focus on building strong language foundations alongside exam technique, vocabulary, grammar and confidence. For students learning Mandarin more generally, I can adapt lessons to focus on communication, pronunciation, characters, conversation or cultural understanding.

I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and actively using the language. My aim is not only to help students achieve strong results, but also to develop their confidence and enjoyment of Mandarin.
