As a graduate of The Musashino Academy of Music in Japan, I have extensive experience in performing as a concert pianist in Japan and accompanist for Violinist and Vocalist for their concerts.
I accompanied on a Japanese Canzone CD which was released in 2005 and I used to make music for TV commercials. I'm not only limited to classical music, I also have experience and understanding of many types of composition, from ethnic forms right through to modern, contemporary, techno and electro. I have a dual background in Electrical Engineering and Psychology and retired in 2007 after 20 years as a University lecturer. At different stages in my career I have taught telecommunications engineering, computer programming, software engineering, artificial intelligence and psychology. If the pupil is poorly motivated and/or has acquired unhelpful learning habits then we may need to vary the approach in order to re-engage their interest and/or find a level at which they can perform successfully, and then build on this accomplishment.
