Personal Description:

I am an experienced College Lecturer, qualified teacher, and PhD researcher with over eight years of teaching experience helping students achieve success in Maths, Science, and Computer Science.

I hold a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Software Engineering from Kingston University, a Master's degree in Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence (Distinction), and I am currently undertaking a PhD in Artificial Intelligence. I am also a qualified teacher through Liverpool John Moores University and have completed the National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML).

Throughout my career, I have taught learners from Year 7 through to university level, including GCSE, A-Level, BTEC, T Level, HNC, HND, and undergraduate students. As a College Lecturer, I have extensive experience preparing students for examinations, coursework, programming projects, and university assignments.

Teaching Experience:

I have over eight years of teaching experience across secondary, further education, and higher education settings. Throughout my career, I have taught students from Year 7 through to university level, supporting learners with a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and learning needs.

My teaching experience covers Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Business Studies, Computer Science, Information Technology, Programming, Data Analysis, Artificial Intelligence, and Software Development. I have successfully prepared students for GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level, BTEC, T Level, HNC, HND, and undergraduate qualifications across the AQA, OCR, and Pearson Edexcel examination boards.

I currently work as a Computer Science and Digital Technology Lecturer at a college in Wigan, where I teach Level 2 and Level 3 learners, as well as Higher National students. My responsibilities include lesson planning, curriculum development, assessment and feedback, student progress monitoring, and preparing learners for examinations, coursework, and industry-focused projects.

In addition to my classroom teaching, I have extensive experience providing one-to-one and small-group tuition. I have helped students improve their confidence, develop effective study skills, strengthen exam technique, and achieve higher grades in STEM subjects.

My teaching approach focuses on making complex topics easy to understand through clear explanations, practical examples, structured resources, and personalised support tailored to each learner's individual needs.



Tutoring Approach:

Every student learns differently, and I tailor my lessons to suit each learner's individual needs, strengths, and learning style. My aim is to build confidence, develop subject knowledge, and help students achieve their academic goals through clear explanations and structured learning.

I specialise in breaking down complex topics into simple, easy-to-understand steps, helping students gain confidence in areas they may previously have found challenging. Whether a learner is aiming to improve their understanding, prepare for examinations, or achieve higher grades, I provide patient and supportive guidance throughout the process.

My lessons are highly interactive and designed to encourage active participation, critical thinking, and problem-solving. I regularly check understanding throughout each session to ensure students remain engaged and make consistent progress.

To support learning, I provide a wide range of carefully selected resources, including lesson notes, PowerPoint presentations, knowledge organisers, exam techniques, specification guidance, past papers, practice questions, and marking scheme analysis. This enables students to develop both subject knowledge and examination skills.

I believe that confidence is the foundation of academic success. My goal is not only to help students achieve excellent results but also to develop independent learners who feel motivated, capable, and prepared for future challenges.

In addition to one-to-one tuition, I also offer small-group sessions where learners can benefit from collaborative learning and peer discussion in a supportive environment. Group tuition is available for KS3 Maths and Triple Science (£20 per student for a 2-hour session) and KS4 GCSE Maths, Triple Science, and Computer Science (£25 per student for a 2-hour session). A minimum of five students is required for group classes.
