Information About Dawn:
Personal Description:
I have a degree in French and Spanish, a PGCSE and Qualified Teacher Status.
I have taught a wide range of students with different backgrounds and abilities from both state schools and the private school sector. I am just as willing to help a struggling student achieve a comfortable pass as to help another student nudge their result up to a top grade.
Teaching Experience:
I taught both French and Spanish in a secondary school before moving to private tutoring. I have taught online sine 2018.
As well as tutoring, I do French and Spanish speaking exams for GCSE and A Level each spring and autumn for AQA, Edexcel and the IGCSE exams. In the summer I am an examiner, marking speaking and writing scripts for a major exam board.
Tutoring Approach:
I try to make every minute of the hour count, and I plan my lessons meticulously. I also listen to students' cues and I am aware that many will be coming to me after several hours of study at school that day, not to mention sport afterwards.
Generally I do grammar or areas that require more concentration early on and then move onto topic areas and other skills. I can track down past papers and also work on specific areas that students sometimes spring on me after a difficult lesson at school.
