I am a mature lady (60yo) with a 1st Class Electrical/Electronic Engineering Degree (B.Sc) and a Postgraduate Management qualification from Cambridge University. My own 'A' Levels were Biology, Maths and Physics with a particular focus on electronics. At University I studied Maths at degree level.

After working as an Engineer I changed career in my late 20s and moved into the world of Therapy and Healing. I trained in hypnotherapy and craniosacral therapy as well as Human Design. I have worked with young people utilising various modalities to help them gain confidence and choose careers/subjects that bring out the best in them. I studied for a time in a Rudolph Steiner environment so I appreciate the value of alternative approaches and Artistic therapies to educating young people. Personal Description:
I have been teaching for 12 years, and for 7 of those, I was a Pastoral Lead. This entailed me being responsible for 150+ students at various stages in their academic journey. More recently I have become Head of Mathematics at an independent school with a focus on supporting students who have SEN.

I have been privately tutoring 1-1 for 6 years now and I am adaptable to cater my sessions either virtually or 1-1, or 1-2

Tutoring Approach:
I love tutoring and the relationships you can create. Students often harbour a lot of ability in their chosen subject but need to have that inspiration. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing this occur. I try to tailor my sessions as much as possible to the individual with a mixture of questions and real life example.

Teaching Experience:
An experienced and skilled teacher of 20 years, I have worked with a wide range of age groups and am a skilled teacher across the curriculum - primary trained but also with significant experience beyond primary as a Maths specialist teacher. I have worked with both children who need support and those who are working significantly above expectations. I have had much success in developing skills, knowledge, understanding and confidence in my students and helping them to succeed and excel. I have also worked closely with children with SEND and supported children with EAL. In addition to the academics, I am an Art specialist.
