English is essentially a skills based subject. In the mean time, I topped up my knowledge studying 2 years foundation degree in Child Development to have more of a professional perspective on early years/Foundation stage.

In 2018, I moved to England to start my MA studies in Special Needs and carried on teaching 1-1 ever since I graduated in 2020.

I worked with several children/teenagers/young adults across Manchester within different settings. I got trained in Applied Behavioural Analysis/ABA and tutored in this area offering behavioural support alongside the academic support I have been offering.

I got regular students in Manchester , offering home schooling, pastoral and behavioural support on a regular basis. I have also offered short term interventions , behavioural/emotional support to students who have different needs during this period.

I'm a retired academic in psychology and education with over 25 years experience teaching and supporting students in HE on undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in the UK and internationally.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified primary school teacher with over ten years of experience working in education. I have taught across different year groups and currently tutor pupils from Years 3 to 9 in English and maths. I also have extensive experience supporting children with additional needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia. I am warm, reliable and approachable, and I genuinely enjoy helping children recognise their abilities and make progress.

Teaching Experience:
I have worked in education for over ten years and qualified as a primary school teacher in 2020. During this time, I have taught Years 2, 4, 5 and 6, as well as gaining experience across EYFS to Key Stage 3 through supply teaching. I have a strong understanding of the primary curriculum and particular experience in English, maths, phonics and SATs preparation. While teaching Year 6, 86% of my class achieved the expected standard across reading, writing and maths.

Before qualifying as a teacher, I worked as a teaching assistant, intervention teacher and one-to-one SEN support assistant. This gave me valuable experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and other additional needs. I have also worked as a Computing Lead and currently tutor pupils from Years 3 to 9 in English and maths. I take time to identify gaps in understanding and break difficult concepts into smaller, manageable steps. I regularly check progress and adapt my approach when something is not working.
