I have been a full-time, specialist, one-to-one biology tutor for 34 years. I was based in Oxford, for 25 years and was widely regarded as 'Oxford's Premier Biology Tutor'. I have now moved away from Oxford to rural Devon and have been offering my services online only, nationally and worldwide, for the past nine years via the medium of Skype and 'Scribblar'. Scribblar is an interactive online whiteboard that is better than face-to-face tuition as there is zero travelling and waiting time and cost and it is more intimate and concentrated than 'in-person' tuition. I have taught online to 43 countries per date and can teach up to 55 hours per week. I have my own printed, illustrated notes for all sections of all the A-level specifications, plus the IB, and many of the GCSE specifications which I can e-mail in advance of tutorials as well as putting them up on Scribblar. I charge £80 per hour normally but offer a £10 per hour discount for tuition after 11 am and before 3 pm on weekdays.

Tutoring Approach:
Stick to the specification. Do ALL the past paper questions and go through them with the mark schemes. Take the exam. and get on with your life.

I like to work in a very methodical and structured fashion and not confuse effective work with hard work. The students who say at the end "yes, I learned biology - but, better still I learned how to study" are the ones with whom I know I have really succeeded.

Apart from an internet connection all that you need for tutorials is a thin A4 ring binder with a copy of the specification punched and put into the front and some coloured dividers in the back. If you are a retake student I ask you to highlight the specification (in yellow with solid highlighter if you are quite happy with the content; dotted highlighter if you are a bit unhappy with it and no highlighter if you have not done it or have forgotten it). This will tell me where to start and I can estimate to within an hour or so how many lessons will be needed to 'reteach' the syllabus.

I have board-specific, illustrated notes for all of the UK A-level specifications and IB, and for most of the GCSE specifications.
Effectively I have written a textbook for you and give you notes (to be filed in the coloured dividers) via e-mail and Scribblar (my interactive online whiteboard) to fill in any gaps in your knowledge. As I cover the specification I highlight my copy in pink so that I can monitor progress.

I have banks of past paper questions that I can e-mail to you that you can work through - these are specific to one exam. specification and contains not only the most recent AS/A2 papers and mark schemes but also the preceding many years of papers for that specification, chopped up into topic headings. So, for example, it will take an hour to 'cover' The Heart and then I'll give you the questions specifically on the heart on that board to do before the next tutorial. It is all very straightforward and actually rather less hard work than doing it in a slapdash, non-systematic fashion. The study skills that you will learn will stand you in good stead throughout life.

Developing the ability to solve different types of questions challenging you from different angles on the same topics, is what is challenged repeatedly in SQA exams which require efficient skills in problem solving. I like finding out how the world around me works, and am keen to pass on my knowledge and enthusiasm to others. I also enjoy making or tinkering with things - I have customised a button accordion to play bass notes more flexibly, and have added extra buttons to video game controllers. In school I designed and constructed a solar-powered light of adjustable brightness. Patterns appeal to me. When I am not involved in science, I do Scottish Country Dancing, as well as many other genres of folk dancing with intricate symmetrical dance figures. My study of several languages, including Latin and German, allows me to identify parts of scientific terms that I can use to help my students understand them - for instance a recently discovered non-repeating tile is named Einstein not after the physicist but because only one ('ein') type of tile or stone ('stein') is needed to make the pattern. I find Richard Feynman inspiring. He himself got into science through tinkering and discussions with his father about how things worked. He spoke on beauty in nature, and that scientific understanding only enhances its appreciation - as well as seeing the beauty of a flower, a scientist can also wonder at its smaller structure, and how it developed to attract insects to pollinate it. What does this tell us about how bees see the world?

I have three years' experience conducting tutorials in Materials Science at Cambridge University, having myself studied Natural Sciences there, including Physics and Chemistry. In addition to the course material provided by the university and my own worked solutions to the problems, I used physical models in the teaching that I had made myself.

I am currently studying Biology, Psychology and English Literature at Churston Ferrers Grammar School in the UK and have a strong passion for my studies.
I'm very much into my sport and exercise, I play wheelchair basketball for Plymouth Fusion and enjoy going to the gym a few times a week for how it makes me feel. I'm an overall advocate for all people (but particularly young people) taking care of their own physical and mental health through the right activities and approach to life.
Also, I enjoy playing music, mainly singing, as well as acting. I have performed in various shows and concerts in my school throughout the years which is something I really enjoy and a great way to boost my own confidence.

My first session is free and from then the price will remain at £20.00 an hour for all of my subjects (maths, english, biology and drama) for the time being.
The best time to work with me are weekends and weekday evenings at around 7-9 pm.

I am Mr Haig and been teaching A level Psychology, Sociology, Biology and GCSE Science teacher since 2019 in a prestigious school in St Albans. My classes are humorous, funny and almost immediately you are getting into Psychology and Science.
My students usually score from 65 to 79 in the exams (B to A*), except Bobby he scored 61 still B but could had done much better.

I have been teaching in Hertfordshire since 2019, St Albans. Before I thought in China for 2 years, where I learned how not to teach and what to avoid in classrooms. My multicultural background avoids the cultural bias and gender bias (girls are better in psychology).

I am using the AQA, Edexel, OCR boards as they are most common examination in the country. My classes are dynamic and full of energy. The experience that you will gather, will not just help you to pass the test with flying colours but also you will be able to explain simple psychological and science phenomena that occur in our day to day activities. I am a passionate, friendly and thorough teacher of Biology. My subject knowledge and understanding of the examinations set are outstanding.
