I continually update my teaching, mainly through the National Education Union online training sessions. I am a mature lady (60yo) with a 1st Class Electrical/Electronic Engineering Degree (B.Sc) and a Postgraduate Management qualification from Cambridge University. My own 'A' Levels were Biology, Maths and Physics with a particular focus on electronics. At University I studied Maths at degree level.

After working as an Engineer I changed career in my late 20s and moved into the world of Therapy and Healing. I trained in hypnotherapy and craniosacral therapy as well as Human Design. I have worked with young people utilising various modalities to help them gain confidence and choose careers/subjects that bring out the best in them. I studied for a time in a Rudolph Steiner environment so I appreciate the value of alternative approaches and Artistic therapies to educating young people. I'm a dyslexia specialist and I teach using multi-sensory methods, so children learn through sight, sound, touch and movement rather than just sitting and listening. Many of my pupils have been told they're "bad at" reading, spelling or maths, and I love showing them that they just learn differently, not less.
