I am an Arabic linguistics PhD student at the Language and Linguistic Science Department of the University of York, UK. I hold a BA in English literature and linguistics as well as an MA in translation studies. My study makes me familiar with written Arabic and spoken Arabic in its different forms (dialects). Although I learned all my foreign languages through a rigorous method very much based on writing and grammar, I am happy to adapt my method to my pupil's needs. I have also been interpreting for the Social, NHS, Housing, Mental health and various other public services, so I have a very clear understanding of the difficulties that exist due to the language barriers.

I have collated endless glossaries for every sector, which can help anyone achieve the required level of efficiency and confidence.

I am a creative individual with a passion for learning and teaching. I currently work at a school and have a recent DBS check.

I have 13 GCSEs including Maths and English. A Levels in: Philosophy, English Literature, Art, and Turkish. I studied architecture at university. I have also taken short courses in photography, ceramics, mosaics, interior design, creative writing and oil painting.

Teaching Experience:
I have tutored at school and in my free time for secondary school students. I also volunteered to tutor primary school students. I can also help and mentor students prepare to get into architecture school and also help them during undergraduate studies, including CAD, dissertation, presentations, portfolio work. I also provide proofreading service.

I mentor and coach students to find a suitable career for them. Other things I can help with includes writing CVs, job search, job applications, interviews and study skills.

My approach to tutoring depends on each student's needs. I like to use a variety of resources. I particularly enjoy teaching visual learning such as incorporating presentations, videos, etc. I like to make learning an enjoyable experience. I start with easy subjects and gradually increase when the student feels ready. I also like to keep students active during lessons by asking them questions and asking them to do tasks and tests.

I have an enthusiastic and playful approach to teaching, with a focus on facilitating your growth and improving your confidence.

Teaching Experience:
I have over 20 years of experience teaching and tutoring in a variety of situations - in primary and secondary schools, universities, after school programs, and online. I have held many different positions with the schools and educational companies I have worked for, including head of department, senior teacher trainer, private personal tutor, and classroom teacher. I have taught all ages and ability levels. I am experienced in ESOL and well as teaching native speakers.

My students get consistently high results on their exams: GCSE, A-level, IELTS, TOEFL, and more.

I have taught and tutored several languages as well as music, although my speciality and focus nowadays is English language and literature, reading and writing skills, and helping students learn how to study effectively.
