I am an Arabic linguistics PhD student at the Language and Linguistic Science Department of the University of York, UK. I hold a BA in English literature and linguistics as well as an MA in translation studies. My study makes me familiar with written Arabic and spoken Arabic in its different forms (dialects). This is why I am quite familiar with Egyptian, Syrian, Lebanese, Gulf and Sudanese Arabic. I am Shravani and I have been teaching students for quite a while. I have graduated with an IB diploma and graduated in Business administration majoring in Management and Marketing.

I have studied Economics, Maths in Higher level, English Language and Literature, Norwegian, Chemistry.

Teaching Experience:
I have taught students for few years, I ensure students and kids get better at writing and get enough prep for their exams. I have taught students of various ages, kids from primary school to students studying IB. I have taught maths, English, Economics and Business and since I am currently studying that as well. I have a better knowledge of management level course.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach to teaching is to make sure students are understanding the concepts and not just memorising it. To achieve this, I make sure my classes are more visual and interactive so students are able to focus on the work and understand the material much easier.

As you will see from my resume much of the work I have done has a lot of transferable skills such
as good communication; listening skills; patience, hard working, creativity and others. I have held
roles in leadership capacity in voluntary sector, team leading a group of 32 people of differing
ages: training; teaching; mobilising and preparing weekly rotas to provide hosting and welcoming
duties to clients. I had not taught in a school environment I have experience in tending to the needs and
care of children as I have always helped and even home-schooled my 3 children from 2yrs to 5yrs. I also assisted them with
their homework daily and weekly from age 5yrs upwards in Primary School. I was available to help
with questions as needed during their Secondary School years.

I have taught English online to young adults upwards for 15 months and enjoyed the experience.

I feel confident that I hold strong communication skills and firm commitment to learning.
