Information About Jennifer:

Personal Description:

I am a friendly and enthusiastic primary school teacher from Yorkshire and a Modern Foreign Languages graduate from the University of Edinburgh. I have experience teaching primary subjects in the UK, both in schools and as a private tutor, as well as teaching EFL in France and Spain.

I offer online primary tuition to support children with their schoolwork, homework and wider learning. Private tuition provides the opportunity to focus on each pupil as an individual, allowing lessons to be tailored to their particular needs, interests and areas for development. It can give children the time and attention they need to ask questions, practise skills and build confidence at their own pace. My aim is to provide calm, engaging and personalised lessons that help pupils build confidence, enjoy their learning and make progress.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 12 years of experience teaching EFL to adults and children in the UK, France and Spain. I also have a PGCE in Primary Education and have taught primary subjects in UK schools and as a private tutor. I have a great deal of experience of tutoring for 11+ tests and the year 6 SATS. I have a degree in Modern Foreign Languages and teach French and Spanish at primary level, as well as Spanish to GCSE. I now tutor full-time online and in-person around the York area.

Tutoring Approach:

I have experience of teaching all age groups, from early primary to adults, and of planning lessons and carrying out assessments. I believe that the right balance of challenge and enjoyment is key to helping pupils achieve their full potential.

I have a positive and patient approach and aim to develop a good rapport with all pupils, creating a calm, supportive and cooperative atmosphere. I strive to make lessons exciting and engaging by using familiar, real-life experiences, fun games and tailored resources, alongside a variety of teaching methods suited to each individual child.

I am flexible in my approach and willing to persevere to find what works best for each pupil. My aim is for students to enjoy their lessons while building confidence, making progress and succeeding in reaching their goals.
