I have a dual background in Electrical Engineering and Psychology and retired in 2007 after 20 years as a University lecturer. At different stages in my career I have taught telecommunications engineering, computer programming, software engineering, artificial intelligence and psychology. For relaxation I listen to jazz and blues.

I have been tutoring students since March 2008 and am able to offer maths, physics and ICT from primary up to 'A' level, and general science (biology, chemistry, and physics) up to GCSE level. I have taught GCE A-level Maths, Further Maths and Physics with a number of students who have obtained places at Oxbridge/ Russell Group Universities to study Engineering, Maths, Medicine and Economics. A number of my tutees have been following courses in IGCSE Maths or Science or the IB in Maths or Physics. I have a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge. While studying in my Bachelor's program in Russia and the Master's program at Cambridge I have developed a deep appreciation of the beauty of Mathematics and decided to specialize in the area. This eventually led to creating a new mathematical theory and defending my thesis.

As much as I like pondering on math problems on my own, it is especially important in maths to be able to explain the area to others, be they your colleagues, undergraduate and high school students or interested adults. I am a 24 Year old with a degree in Early years education. I am currently doing my Qualified Teacher Training at a primary school and tutor children in Maths on the weekends. I have tutoring children for many years to help them excel in schools so that they can reach their full potential.

Teaching Experience:
Through the years, the goal of educating young children has been the focus of my chosen work experiences, both in Health and Social Care (Level 3) at A Level to outside the classroom. From shadowing Early Years Practitioners to assisting Reception class teachers, I have made my rounds from school to school. The invaluable lessons learnt at these settings gave me the skills used to run an afterschool homework club at the local community centre. This included maths and English classes taught to the children as an extension of the school curriculum to help them get a better footing in their classrooms. Combined with my bachelor's degree in Early Years Education, I've attained a well-rounded knowledge on childhood.
During my time volunteering at the local community centre, I aided in many after school and summer school activities. The aim; to widen the experiences and opportunities for the children of Somali refugees. This included sports-based activities in the summer holiday, football club, art club, dance as well as outside sourced leisure interests. My reasoning for volunteering here is that I was once one of these children and this was the same community centre that widened my own horizons. However, this did not have my focus, instead, afterschool homework club did. These experiences showed me that I am willing to go above and beyond for the children that need it both in and out of the classes.

As a nanny for two children in Key Stages' 1 and 2, I was fortunate enough to gain experiences of at home teaching of curriculum-based resources provided by the school during the lockdown. It was an invaluable insight into primary school curriculums and gave me the necessary experience needed into teaching, without leaving the house. I aimed to follow these schedules down to the break and lunch times to give the children a sense of normality and a readiness to learn during this unpredictable time.

I am a graduate of University of Southampton and Queen Mary University of London. I recieved a BSc in Biomedical Science and an MSc in Forensic Medical Science at both of these universities (respectively). Since graduation, I have been volunteering to work with a few GCSE students, focusing on improving their grades and understanding of Maths and Biology. I am most passionate about biology, particularly human biology, physiology, and anatomy and this is where my strengths lie within biology.
