I am a Turkish Cypriot and I am quite familiar to the GCSE and A-level curriculum. Apart from my academic background I'd like to address couple more stuff I have in my life. First off I have to state that I love learning and teaching new stuff, and also I believe teaching is the older brother of learning; as you can not say that you have learned something deeply if you are unable to teach it to someone that does not know it; like I play chess and have been the 6th table player of my municipality's chess team. Even though I have attended many many games with that team I was not aware of the fact that thinking simple would actually be a benefit in any game, and I realized this when last year I have aided an association's chess team in stars category as an educator. I'm friendly, patient and approachable, and I really enjoy seeing that moment when something finally "clicks" for a pupil. I aim to create a relaxed environment where pupils feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and working through problems at their own pace.

Teaching Experience:
I have four years of experience teaching secondary Science and Physics, including National 5 and Higher Physics. I currently teach both National 5 and Higher classes and have experience planning courses, creating assessments and prelims, marking and moderation, supported study and exam preparation.

As a classroom teacher, I have worked with pupils across a wide range of abilities and confidence levels. This means I'm very used to identifying where a pupil is struggling, breaking difficult concepts into manageable steps and adapting explanations until we find one that works for them.

I also have a strong understanding of the SQA course requirements and the skills pupils need to develop to perform well in assessments and final exams.

Tutoring Approach:
My tutoring is tailored to the individual pupil rather than following a one-size-fits-all programme. We can focus on particular topics they find difficult, consolidate what they are currently learning in school, work through homework or prepare specifically for assessments and exams.

I like to combine clear explanations with plenty of worked examples and exam-style questions, particularly focusing on problem-solving, calculations and how to approach SQA questions effectively.

Most importantly, I want pupils to understand why they are doing something rather than simply memorising a method. My aim is to improve both their Physics ability and their confidence, so that eventually they can tackle questions much more independently.
