In my current role, I have full responsibility of delivering the new qualifications from S1 BGE through to Advanced Higher Computing Science. I have made the changes to our course and continue to develop these and the changes have been seamless in ensuring a smooth transition into the National Qualifications. Tutor based in Loudwater (High Wycombe). PGCE qualified. I have been working as a Data Analyst for the last 4 years. Before that, 6 years' experience - both as a teacher and as a home tutor - teaching the following subjects: Maths, Computing & Spanish, across all key stages. Available to tutor Microsoft Power BI mornings, evenings, and weekends. I tutor most of my students at home (HP11), or online, and I am also available for in-home tutoring within 5 miles of High Wycombe.

Personal Description:
I am a chartered software engineer with decades of experience in the industry. With a Cambridge degree and doctorate in AI I have performed a wide variety of roles including AI research, technical support, network engineering, software development, web development, software engineering, systems analysis ... as well as teaching GNVQ, A Level and University Level. Most recently I have been working as a senior manager in a software engineering company. I am approaching retirement age and returning to teaching. I also work in the Prisons Service and the NHS as a psychodrama psychotherapist and have an enhanced DBS. I will be accepting new students in September 2025.

Teaching Experience:
I have taught GNVQ and A Level at Oxpens FE College in Oxford, and I have taught on the Open University Databases and SQL Level 3 (advanced degree) course. My teaching for the Open University was literally exemplary: samples of my teaching were included in their Best Practice guide for lecturers for 5 years. I also tutored privately for 5 years and ran my own evening class courses before taking on my most recent software engineering role.

Tutoring Approach:
I tailor my approach to the needs of the student. At one extreme I will encourage an A* student to follow their curiosity and will support them to find information proactively and develop their problem-solving skills. At the other extreme I will work with a remedial student to identify weak areas of the syllabus, and will provide support on the specific topics we identify. I enhance engagement from students with the use of improvised drama to illustrate and develop themes.

* Head of Computing and ICT at school in County Durham. * Worked as 2nd in Department as Teacher of Computing at School in Durham where I taught for 9 years. *Specialise in Computer Science at GSCE OCR for both papers 1 and 2 as well as Python coding that will assist the students project and exam technique. *I also specialise at Computing at A Level OCR where I teach all the aspects of the paper one section of the course from Hardware, Software to the Mathematical side of Computing. * I am currently the lead mentor at my school for Computer Science trainee teachers where I aim to try and support the trainee as much as possible in the classroom to help them progress. * Currently exam mark for OCR at both GCSE and A Level. I also mark and moderate for the exam board for Imedia along with Cambridge Technicals Level 3 in IT. * I have plenty of hours of online tutoring offered to students and use the latest technology available to show progress for the students in my care. * Vast knowledge of IGCSE Computing where I have been tutoring international students. * Always try to keep up to date with the technology world that is ever changing, humorous and very outgoing personality. * Always felt that I have built up excellent rapport with students over the years and that it helps the students get the best possible results. * Father of 2 boys (14 and 11), enjoy all aspects of sport especially Cricket, Football and Golf.
