At present I work with the Leicestershire Adult Learning Service working as an E Learning Champion at Oadby Library. I offer free computer tuition to adults wishing to learn more about the computer or have any puzzling questions that need answering. Whilst I was at Moat at during my education at Beauchamp College and Loughborough College I helped to assist/ train a small group in the use of particular pieces of hardware and software At Loughborugh College. I also assisted in several HP IT Essentials classes where I assisted students to gain particular qualifications. Whilst at Moat I assisted staff in the training and understanding of new software to ensure all staff have the confidence to deliver the curriculum and to provide support to staff appropriate to their needs. My approach to teaching/tutoring is a simple one I always strive to make sure the learner understands whats he/she is being taught and if there are aspects that they find difficult I revise that particular topic over and over again until they understand and I do this using the various teaching methods and learning styles available to ne including the VAK (Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic) approach.

At one extreme I will encourage an A* student to follow their curiosity and will support them to find information proactively and develop their problem-solving skills. At the other extreme I will work with a remedial student to identify weak areas of the syllabus, and will provide support on the specific topics we identify. I enhance engagement from students with the use of improvised drama to illustrate and develop themes.

Personal Description:
Currently a Head of Computer Science at a prestigious independent school in Kent, with over 21 years of experience teaching GCSE and A Level Computer Science and IT. I am a confident, patient, and down-to-earth teacher who is passionate about helping students achieve their full potential.

Teaching Experience:
Alongside my teaching experience, I also work as a GCSE examiner, which gives me valuable insight into exam techniques, mark schemes, and what examiners are
looking for in high-scoring answers. This enables me to guide students effectively on how to structure and answer exam questions to maximise their marks.

Tutoring Approach:
My teaching approach is clear, supportive, and straightforward. Computer Science is a content-heavy subject with many challenging concepts, so I focus on building
understanding through structured explanations and regular practice.
I use the FACE strategy to support student progress:
