Each student is different, and I feel it an insult to my students' integrity to tell them how to revise when first meeting them. Through my experience teaching, there is no right way to study, but there are a variety of 'better' ways to make the best grades for each person's potential.

Many students approach me frustrated that they often don't achieve the same calibre as their peers despite the hours they put in. Often it is due to the fact that they aren't their peers and a different approach to revision and homework is required. I believe in working smart before working hard.

Hannah completed her undergraduate degree at the University of St Andrews and did her research project on the neuromuscular disorder Parkinson's disease. To supplement written notes, students often watch short videos that can help explain difficult topics more easily. I am a GTC (General Teaching Council for Scotland) registered Maths teacher with a first class hons BSc and PhD in Chemistry from Edinburgh University and a background in engineering and industry.

While I am highly academically qualified, I understand how it feels to struggle with study and the benefit of getting extra support. I found parts of maths and language difficult at school and was lucky to have a couple of very understanding teachers who helped correct the damage to confidence and understanding left by some rather less sympathetic practitioners.

I have many interests from sports and the environment to languages and the arts and believe in lifelong learning to help gain new skills remain adaptable and responsive to change. I am currently a graduate student in Psychiatry at the University of Oxford. As a curious and driven learner, I am eager to teach what I have learned, as well as learn from those I teach.
