I work as a practicing artist, lecturer and illustrator I feel extremely lucky have been able throughout my working life to combine two of my favourite things, art & nature.

dI have over 25 years experience teaching degree level, HND and ND levels of illustration, drawing and illustration industrial placement. More recently I have collaborated to design workshops and short courses in art and illustration, working with organisations and individuals. My own work is based on observations of mans' intervention in the landscape. I work in oils, water colour, digital photography and print.

I would work with the student to find out exactly what their special skill is in Art. Students will need to find a topic that inspires them and do some visual research on this and I would then help the students by teaching them a range of different techniques, learning how to draw in a number of media from pencil, chalk, oil pastel, pen and ink, biro and graphite and then teach them how to paint in gouache, acrylic, watercolour and use a mixed media approach. Textiles is also a medium I would offer students and basic construction techniques. Adobe photoshop skills is also important in developing photographic images as part of the development. Developing different skills until the student finds out what they particularly enjoy working with and helping the student to explore different media to extend their ideas and lead the students up to developing a final piece. The students would then have a whole project from beginning to end which will help with portfolio development.

Welcome, artist friend! I am Calina and I have been studying art since 1986. I have created the way in this field for more than 35 years. Currently I live and create at my studio in Lower Earley (Reading). I love and I am pleased to expanding the field of Abstract Expressionism. I use simplified shapes with small details in the descriptive scenes.
A big part of my inspiration comes from the natural surroundings and through my travels. The main topic that I approach it is landscape, in all moods and mysteries. The diversity of materials that I use helps me to create in the smallest details, impressions created about the natural world and our experiences with it.

I have been teaching art for nearly 20 years. I teach drawing, painting and sculpture. I also teach papier-mâché technique to make masks and puppets.

I am a professional Theatre Stage and Costume Designer (M.F.A. graduated in 2004), and I have worked in many theatre productions in UK and abroad, as a stage, set and costume designer as well as a puppet maker. My name is Eve, i am 23 and have recently moved back to London having finished my undergraduate studies at The Glasgow School of Art. I have four years experience at Art School where i have specialised in a number of different creative and theoretical areas.

Teaching Experience:
I have experience leading art workshops and tutoring children aged 9-13 at a the Terra Nova Summer Art School in Cheshire. I lead lessons in drawing, painting and printmaking. I have also guided and helped friends and contacts with their applications to UK Art Schools and universities. I am an active artist with decades of experience and a studio in the Southeast London area.
Classically educated to Masters level and able to utilise different mediums and techniques to produce paintings, sculptures or models.
I specialise in oil on canvas and have a style described as a mixture of Monet and Constable.
I also possess my own DIY handmade roto casting machine for producing plaster and resin models.

Painting has always been my favourite medium. Still-life, landscapes, portraits, anything. However, I have an affinity towards boats, animals, wildlife, and nature in general.

Teaching Experience:
Following experience as a substitute teacher, I have gone on to provide in person tuition to children and adults for the past few years.

Tutoring Approach:
Classically trained, I work with the student to build the foundations needed to be a great artist. This includes a hands-on approach to strengthen weaknesses and guide the student towards their end goal.

• Drawing fundamentals such as colour, mixing techniques, layering methods.
• Using basic shapes to break down complex subjects into simple geometric forms.
• Emphasize proportions by using guidelines and measuring techniques to help maintain accuracy.

• Practice contour drawing to focus on capturing the outlines to build hand-eye coordination.
• Introduce light and shadow to create depth and volume.
• Understand and use perspective to add atmosphere and feeling.
