Personal Description:
I was born and raised in Barcelona by a Spanish father and a French mother. I developed a strong interest in languages from a very young age as I learnt three languages as a child; Spanish, French, and Catalan at school. My mother who is a French teacher inspired me with her passion for teaching to further my studies to become a language teacher.

I am a patient and encouraging teacher.

I obtained a Certificate of Teaching Languages to Adults at Goldsmiths University in London and completed a teaching placement at the Instituto Cervantes in London.

I have been drawing and painting professionally for 14 years. Most of the time I am creating my paintings with pastels and throughout my carrier as an artist, I learned quite a lot about this medium and how to use it to achieve the desired results. I also work with oils. But my private lessons will be concentrated on creating pastel artworks.

I am Maths Teacher and tutor located in Dorking Surrey with over 25 years of teaching experience currently working full time in an award wining secondary school in Surrey. Prior to my current position I taught Maths GCSE and A-level at a leading independent school in Greater London for over 10 years. I have also tutored for over 20 years. I really enjoy helping students learn and see the rapid increase in progress and confidence that can be achieved from one-to-one tuition.

As a current teacher, crucially, I am familiar with all the changes to the syllabus for both GCSE and A-level and have the relevant materials to assist. The content has increased for both as has the type of questions. I have taught secondary Mathematics throughout my career in both state an independent schools - teaching both GCSE and IGCSE Mathematics and the AQA Certificate in Further Maths and A level Maths. I am currently Head of Science at a large co-educational boarding school near Coventry. My subject specialism is Biology and I have taught A level, GCSE, Pre-U and IB Biology (HL and SL) full time for over thirty years in four leading independent schools. in the UK I have been Head of Biology departments in two of these schools, designing curricula and evaluating student outcomes.

Throughout my career in schools I have enjoyed tutoring a small number of students each year, normally just one or two per academic year and in recent years, I have worked with several GCSE, A level and IB students usually for the two years leading up to their final exams. If a tutee is in the first year of a two year course, I focus on building their foundational knowledge and understanding. If we are in the year of their final exams, the focus will shift onto more specific exam preparation using past papers and learning from feedback.
