Teaching Experience:
I have over ten years' experience of teaching Science at KS3 & GCSE and Biology at 'A'-Level. I also have over fifteen years' experience as a Lecturer in Applied Biology at various universities in the UK, Nigeria and South Africa. I have been a Private Tutor to many students at various stages over the last six years.

I specialise in preparing students for GCSE chemistry exams and A-level chemistry exams. Until January 2011, I was a Science Teacher at Plymstock School in Plymouth where I had been the Head of Chemistry for 10 years. Previously I had worked at Kelly College Independent School as a Chemistry Teacher and the Head of Lower School Science. Since January 2011, I have been self employed as both a Professional Tutor and also a Professional Drummer! I love both aspects of my self-employment and look forward to helping many more students achieve exam success.

Teaching Experience:
Chris has been teaching and tutoring A-level chemistry since 1994 and as an ex-Head of Chemistry who has worked in both state schools and private schools, he has helped countless students achieve the high grades they often need for university entrance. Many of my ex-students have gone on to vet school, medical school and Ox-bridge.

Tutoring Approach:
CHEMISTRY
I use revision notes and PowerPoints to aid understanding but try to focus the learning around past paper questions and answers as much as possible.
I have handwritten answers to AQA, OCR-A and OCR-Salters past papers which are scanned in to the computer for projection onto a smart board.
I offer individual tuition on a 1:1 basis and also small tutorials of between 2 to 3 students, who are in the same year group and following the same specification… often friends.

I am a mature Scottish Chartered Teacher who qualified initially in 1994. I received the Chartered Teacher from the general teaching council for Scotland in 2010. I have experience of tutoring students from 2006 and I am very enthusiastic in my work. I do not watch the clock and will prepare lessons to meet the needs of the student. I gained a M.A.Ed.(Special Needs) in 2005 and have found it invaluable in identifying and overcoming barriers to learning.Presently I have a wide range of students including those with Dyslexia and Aspergers. I taught psychology and statistics at a university. I also helped students preparing posters and power point presentations.
I have Bsc in Psychology, MSc in Neuroscience and a PhD in Psychology and a postgraduate certificate in management of learning and teaching. I am also a current member of the Higher Education Academy.

Teaching Experience:
I have extensive experience of university teaching. I mainly taught broad psychology topics and statistics. I helped students with designing, running psychology experiments, analysing quantitative data, essay writing, preparing posters and power point presentations.

TURKISH TUTORIALS

I teach Turkish at all levels. I am a native speaker. I have 8 years experience of teaching, interpreting, translating Turkish in number of settings varying from hospitals to courts in London. I use student centred approach in my teachings.

One very special working experience achievement was with children y3-4 and y5-6 in a primary school. I was not only teaching Italian Language but I was involved as producer and director of Goldilocks and the three bears in the Italian spoken language which has never been done before as a movie.
