I am a freelance language tutor who teaches Turkish and English as a Foreign Language. I also do translation and interpretation from time to time. I am a native Turkish speaker and have a dual citizenship (UK and Turkish) and have been living in Cambridge for 18 years.

I currently work in one of the colleges in Cambridge as a Turkish Adult Education Tutor and also run small private Turkish classes from home. My students are all very happy with my teaching style. Recently retired. Until the advent of Covid I would always travel to the tutee. I was forced into online tutoring very reluctantly. Being happy with the technology meant the transition was much smoother than I anticipated.
I am now so happy with this method of tutoring I would even use it if the tutee was living next door.
For some years now I have been tutoring mainly A level to students all over England and Wales. This means I have become conversant with all relevant Exam boards. Although I have tutored EDEXCEL I would now restrict this to the first year. The second year is very specialised in parts and not to my liking. Consequently, I am happy tutoring all four exam boards except for EDEXEL in the second year.

I finished my PhD at the University of Reading and my masters at the University of Bristol. I am from Turkey but I have lived in the UK around 8 years. My CELTA level 5 qualification in teaching English as a foreign language included teaching students of different ages and abilities from around the world via zoom. My students were very engaged in their lessons and weren't afraid to have a go even if it meant making a mistake, as I am able to ensure a relaxed and safe atmosphere in the classroom (or virtual classroom). I have taught all aspects of learning a language: listening, reading, writing and speaking.
