I believe in making complex formulae simple. I do that by linking a problem to commonsense or everyday life.

I was Head of Psychology at a local college for 12 years , and I have examining experience. My approach to tutoring is to tailor the method to the learner, I would aim to work through exam answers, but also to introduce all types of methods to help the learner take on the information. I very much focus on exam technique and how to maximie getting all of the available marks in the exams.

I qualified in September 2013 and have been teaching ever since then. I have got 7 hours class teaching experience but the rest and the majority of my experience lies with teaching adults in a 1:1 setting.

I tend to take a fairly laid back approach to teaching (depending on the student's requirements). I take a very pro-active approach and try and make the lessons as fun as possible, thus the student gains more from them and is more likely to remember what they have learnt. I encourage students to use what they have learnt outside of lessons, thus increasing their practice time and therefore improving their english immensely. I can set homework if I feel it is necessary but the responsibility to complete that work lies within the student. I motivate my students to go above and beyond the standard requirements. If the student is committed then this is always reciprocated.

I am of french nationality, i arrived in bristol 7 months ago. I have spent my whole life in france, passed my A level, studied carpentry and passed my exam successfully. I practiced english for 6 years at school, and i am now completely bilingual. I read a lot in english and i am very ineterested in languages in general. -I ensure each style is personalised for each student as everyone has a different method of learning and to cater to this, I ask the student a few questions at the very start to inform how the lessons will proceed thereafter.

-I've seen a lot of students who find visual diagrams and drawings the best way to learn (it's how I learn best too) so I often explain concepts in graphical ways using my drawing tablet and other interactive applications such as Isaac Physics. I also use Isaac Physics to set homework.

-I like relating things to practical applications in the real world to make sense of topics. E.g I'll often use examples involving video games and flashy RGB custom computer rigs to engage teenagers studying computer science.

-Have taught a range of students. Some grasp a concept immediately and are able to visualise it easily and others that do not grasp concepts as easily. For those, I often revisit content and consistently quiz them.

-Have taught students with learning disabilities and have quickly adapted my style to suit their requirements, taking a calm, compassionate approach.

-As mark schemes seem to get stricter and stricter, I ensure my students hit the little details required to get all the marks and I provide nice ways of remembering the pointers.

I also undertake examination work which I have done for many years.
