I have a first degree in History and English and a masters in Art History. I have been teaching successfully in London and Norfolk for the past 30 years and can honestly say that I have never had a student fail, whether it be for an entrance exam or GCSE, 'A' level or even at University helping with a final dissertation. In the case of coursework for GCSE or 'A' level I am happy to have students email their work for me to check over and then have a lesson in person or on-line. With regard to working towards examinations, I prefer to use the question papers as the basis for learning as generally each exam board has a preference for the way in which questions are answered especially in the subjects I teach. English and History especially are open to interpretation. I believe the need to read around the subject and offer a wider knowledge than is generally taught at schools or colleges is vital. Regular tuition is therefore preferable, so that all problems can be addressed over a period of time but I am flexible as to how many lessons are needed.I am also happy to teach on-line using Teams or Google Meet, as I was doing this over Covid and thereafter.

Half my students tend to be preparing for exams, using techniques I've perfected to help guide them through their exam periods. Tutoring Approach:
Casual tutoring of areas of difficulty, or can do more structured learning of a curriculum, either intense learning (several school years of maths into months) or weekly troubleshooting. I've established good quality material for any level. Plenty of students just require good material and direction for their efforts, with positive reinforcement to really shine. Many long term students will tend to then appreciate and enjoy study, visibly moving towards their goals.

The first meeting will be free with the aim of getting to know one another, and establishing the strengths and weaknesses of the tutee, and at the pace the student requires. At which point a structured plan of action can be drawn up. In some cases the tutee may lack the confidence in certain areas, but can in fact do what's required. Even a casual troubleshooting session every now and then can set their worries at rest.

Should extracurricular material be required or wanted then I'll be happy to provide. This material might not be hard for the tutee, but will help link in various areas of mathematics and will require a little thought about the patterns seen. It's never compulsory, but with a little encouragement a little extra goes a long way.

I then taught adults in a language school (Inlingua) in Germany, Italy and London. I came back to this country and got a job in a private school where I was the teacher in charge of Spanish. After working in this school for 21 years, I have just retired but miss the excitement of teaching.

I have taught languages all my life, first in a Welsh comprehensive school (for 8 years), then abroad. In Spain, I taught French and English in a primary school and I then taught adults French, Spanish and English as a foreign language for Inlingua. When I returned to Britain, I taught French and Spanish to GCSE and A level in a private school. I have just retired after 21 years there and I now help a private Open University student. I enjoy teaching and would like to do more tutoring.

Tutoring Approach:
As I have a wide experience of teaching languages, I am able to use different kinds of approach to language learning and can apply the best suited one for each student. I enjoy teaching linguistially minded student as well as those who find it a challenge to learn a foreign language. Through working for a long time in the Bristish educational system, I am aware of the requirements of different GCSE and A levels examination boards. From the student's point of view, I think that learning a foreign language should be fun but also challenging and rewarding.

I've been teaching in state and private secondary schools since 2001 and have taught both young people and adults in the UK and abroad. During my 20 years of teaching my primary focus has been teaching English Language and Literature at KS3, KS4 and KS5. As Head of the English department at L.O.G.S I successfully improved upon the high pass rates at both GCSE and A-level. By initiating innovative strategies in schemes of work and individual lesson plans I ensured that pupils at KS3 were supported effectively and given the best chance of obtaining excellent grades once they reached Year 11. Leading a team of English teachers through the changes in the exam system (from grades to the current numbering system) meant I devised imaginative schemes of work and crucial time-saving teaching techniques which ensured examination success. Last year my English department had "excellent" results whilst nationally grades dropped. I believe the key to a pupil fulfilling their potential is a combination of: the teacher-pupil relationship based upon trust, upbeat dynamic lessons which make learning fun and relevant to the world we live in, and empowering pupils with information to enable them to be independent, pro-active learners.

During my years of teaching I have worked with a range of different exam boards and led meetings to moderate and mark work accurately and effectively.

I have privately tutored pupils with special educational needs (such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and weak literacy) and I am experienced in setting suitable learning challenges and overcoming potential barriers to learning.

As a private tutor I feel my priority is to make the pupil feel at ease and able to ask any questions whenever they need to. Currently a student at uni, studying social work bsc.

I want to do this because it be a great experience, great on my CV and working with children is the key area to my career aspiration. As a bonus I get paid to study myself and for the child, that's a no brainer.

I don't tend believe that teaching has to be serious and strict, I believe it should be fun, so that the child would want to study not to be forced to study.

I stand by that, as it says a lot about my character, I'm friendly, open minded and always, always put the child's needs at first because how can a child succeed whilst the implements/recognition of support are not in place? Γεια σου! My name is Christina and I am a passionate native Modern Greek Teacher. My background from my graduate Classical studies as well as my postgraduate Moral Philosophy/Ethics studies,in combination with QTS certificate and me being an Examiner associate, gave me the chance to work with everything that I love, hence teaching Modern Greek as a second language.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching Modern Greek as a second language since 2014 in London, both to adults and children.
My expertise is the preparation of A Level Modern Greek and GCSE students in order to succeed the A* grade in their final exams.
I currently work as an A Level Teacher in a Greek School and I teach Modern Greek in groups and in one-to-one tuition both online and in one of the best Universities in London.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach of teaching is communicative and experiental, and my aim is the beginner student to be confident and able to speak Greek from the very beginning as well as to start exploring all aspects of Modern Greek language. I offer a full Modern Greek A Level and GCSE preparetion, with excellent student results and comments.
With regards to more advanced students, my guidance will focus on further enhancing their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, as well as the further development on the vocabulary and the grammar/syntax.
