Personal Description:

I am a fully qualified and highly experienced Maths teacher and tutor and have been teaching/tutoring for 30 years with exceptional results. I am enthusiastic and passionate about teaching and at the same time am approachable and friendly in my relationship with my pupils.

I enjoy working with families who are fully committed to the process and I believe that the student, tutor and parent(s) working as a team can achieve amazing progress.

I have a Masters degree in Coaching from Warwick University where I am also involved in tutoring Maths teachers in how to get the most out of the different levels of student. As a professional performance coach (who has worked in education and business) I have a unique insight into what facilitates success.

Teaching Experience:

30 Years of teaching and tutoring Maths in Primary and Secondary schools.
2 Years in International schools
Tutoring 11+ for the past ten years.
Professional coaching experience with teenagers and teachers in education who are struggling with different areas that affect performance.
Work as a Professional Coach for Warwick University for the purpose of training Maths tutors across the UK
Senior school management for 18 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I love what I do. I am a passionate educator and this is my vocation.

My approach is unique and recognises the need to align conceptual understanding with an ability to apply it in different situations. There is often a disconnect here which explains why pupils struggle in exam situations.

I am currently in the process of collaborating with Warwick University in writing a book that makes Maths more accessible and relevant to the students of today. The plan is to follow up with books at different levels which will support teachers, students and parents.
