This coaching-based approach I take has proven highly successful. I approach each student and the sessions with an open mind to learn what I need to be of support.

Combining motivational coaching techniques, I offer a uniquely engaging, personally attuned service. The first lesson typically consists of a complimentary educational assessment (usually 30 minutes) to help identify key areas for improvement . All results can be shared with the parent/guardian. Based on this initial assessment, a 100% individual and tailored programme of learning is created. While encouraging the student to adopt high yet realistically achievable targets for their own education, I am also sensitive to the level of each student and what he or she is ready to adopt.

I have been teaching the Humanities subjects since 2005 and specialise in History and Geography. I have taught in secondary schools, colleges and online (small groups and 1-1). I love helping students to get to grips with all the different aspects of the Humanities subjects and consider it a real bonus for my students to, not only succeed in exams, but also to learn to love the subject. I have been a Manager and English Lecturer in Adult Education for over 20 years, and taught English Language, Literature and Drama in secondary schools before that. I have full Qualified Teacher Status, certified by the Department for Education (UK).

Qualifications: BA (Hons) English Literature from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne; Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (Teaching Qualification) from the University of Durham.

I am also a freelance writer and have had comedy material produced on BBC Television & Radio.

I have been a teacher for over 30 years, helping thousands of learners throughout my career, in both secondary schools and in the Coventry Adult Education Service. Most recently, I have been providing Private Tuition online and in clients' homes.
