After leaving school, I studied at Nottingham University for a BA in Music, then for a MA in Theology from the London School of Theology. Having worked for a while at an inner-city secondary school, I went on to complete a research masters and a PhD in Biblical Studies, whilst working as a teaching affiliate at Nottingham University. I'm Rebecca, 31 years old and living in the Liverpool area. Originally I am from Dublin but took the plunge and moved to the UK nearly 8 years ago! I have a BA Honours Level 8 in Humanities specialising in English, Theology and Philosophy. I'm an enthusiastic teacher and still a keen learner. I love to impart knowledge and promote a love of learning among my students whilst having some fun along the way!

Teaching Experience:
I have been a qualified teacher for 7 years now teaching Religious Studies, Philosophy and Ethics across all year groups including A-Level. Christianity, Islam and Judaism would be my specialist religions at GCSE level. I have taught AQA and Eduqas exam boards at both GCSE and A-Level and I have tutored for OCR A-Level. Pupils who I have tutored have gained up to two grades above their target. I am the current subject lead in my department, achieving above national average with my students. I have been also a facilitator for Best Practice, this means I have facilitated the CPD training for Early Career Teachers in their first year of teaching.

We work as a team- team work makes the dream work as they say! I believe everyone can be taught something once they are inspired and enjoy the learning experience. I am an experienced tutor, based in North-East Lincolnshire. I have many years of teaching under my belt, as well as experience of marking for exam boards. I am a dad and enjoy studying History and watching rugby.

Teaching Experience:
I have over 14 years of experience teaching in secondary schools in England. I have taught primarily History but also RS, Humanities, Geography, Citizenship and English. I have taught students of many different levels of attainment and from many different backgrounds.

I have taught History to A Level with experience of teaching units on Nazi Germany, the history of medicine, Elizabethan England, the American West, the Cold War, the Inter-War years, Civil Rights in America. As a historian, I specialise in medieval and early modern history.

I am a friendly and approachable tutor with extensive experience in academia, both as a graduate teacher and a student (I'm currently a PhD Psychology student). Having completed my GCSEs, A-levels, a BSci in Psychology, an MSci in Psychological Research, and currently pursuing a PhD in Perceptual Psychology, I understand the challenges students face. I know what it is like to miss something or not quite grasp a concept as explained by a lecturer. While I love studying, I also recognise that it can be difficult, so I maintain a strict no-question-is-stupid policy. I encourage you to ask me anything and everything related to our studies.

Teaching Experience:
I bring over four years of teaching experience as a graduate teaching assistant, specialising in guiding first-year undergraduate students who are just beginning their journey in Psychology. During this time, I have gained extensive experience teaching a wide range of topics and modules within the Psychology degree program through interactive seminars and lectures. I am currently undertaking the Advanced HE Associate Fellowship to develop and demonstrate my teaching excellence.

A significant aspect of my role involves teaching students how to write academic essays that meet university-level standards, which differ substantially from A-level expectations. I love teaching Religious Studies and am passionate about giving children their voice and helping to open up the world around them. I have extensive professional and personal experience of neurodiverse learners and currently work part time with autistic young people on a one to one basis. I love reading, cooking with my family and enjoying the Devon countryside with my husband and two children.

I hold both a PGCE in Religious Studies and an MA in Teaching World Religions from Warwick University.
