Teaching Experience:
I have been tutoring privately for 20 years and have seen my students grow in confidence, understanding and knowledge of their chosen topics. I saw a girl who I tutored for 7 months go from getting an 'Unclassified grade' in her Biology AS Level to a B in her A2. I have never seen a student of mine's grades stay the same post-tutoring and I am very proud of that.

Tutoring Approach:
I approach tutoring different ways depending on who the student is. I ask them questions about themselves, hobbies, favourite subjects etc; and then using that to better understand how they learn, I talk to them about their private learning and revision and the method of approach to that and to exams. And then I teach them using the method appropriate to their style of learning. I also set plenty of work and get them to do past papers which I send to them in the first week. I then take these away and mark them in my own time and return with a deeper view of where they are going wrong after they have been taught. I do 2hr concentrated sessions either weekly or fornightly and have seen great results not only in grades but also in enthusiasm for learning. I am also on hand to discuss career and university options too, which helps ease the daunting choices the students have to make.

As a 63 year old with 17 years teaching, I have a lifetime of real experiences outside teaching. This includes 20 years as an RAF technician using maths and physics and 10 years in the business and computing world. Consequently I can deliver teaching to students that is real and meaningful. I am an aerospace engineer by qualification with a Bachelor's and Masters degree from the University of Leeds in Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering. I joined the automotive industry in 2015 and have since worked in engineering. Being an engineer and coming from a family of engineers, Maths is naturally my favourite subject and my strength. I have completed my GCSE with 8As (including Maths & Additional Maths) and I scored 596 out of 600 in GCE Edxcel Pure Mathematics (A) and Further Pure Mathematics (A) in 2010. I have a long history of tutoring Maths, Physics and English since 2008.

Teaching Experience:
I have been tutoring GCE & GCSE level Maths and Physics since 2008. I offer both one-to-one tuition and studying in a groups, both online and in-person. Generally, I recommend 1.5 hour or 2 hours per week per student, covering one topic per session and complementing the session work with homework for practice. I often use AQA, Edexcel and CIE past papers for revision and exam preparation. I also prepare my own mock papers and exam style questions depending on students' abilities. Lesson structures of course vary to cater to each student's needs.

All subjects are taught through explanation, reasoning, examples and home practices. Science is taught through understanding of the theory and practising problem solving while Mathematics is taught by showing the simple steps and with easy tips & tricks to remember the method or to remember common values such as sin 30=0.5. Primary English as a foreign language is taught through reading to expand vocabulary, writing to improve spelling and grammar as well as conversing to bring proficiency and comfort. I am a professional geography researcher specialised in regional geography and urban sciences. I have gained my knowledge and expertise from universities across Europe (Pécs, Wolverhampton, Maribor, Zagreb, and Ljubljana). I am currently a PhD Aspirant at the University of Pécs, Hungary.

I have been mainly researching in the field 'geography of energy', but my interests link my specification to other scientific disciplines such as sustainability, environmental sciences, and landscape geography, and I am able to perform and combine various geographical fields.

During my years as a PhD Student, I was given the chance to gain experience as a lecturer; teaching subjects which included: renewable energy resources and world regional geography. In 2015, I officially became a teacher after successfully completing my PGCE at the Birmingham City University in England.

As a teacher I have also gained experience in a prison setting teaching mathematics to a wide age range and ability of students and different learning levels, whilst I have been able to use the knowledge that I obtained from the course in practice.

Teaching Experience:
Being a 'good' teacher is a subjective opinion that I cannot state about myself. I am experienced in a wide-range of teaching environments from primary/secondary school-aged pupils to adult/prison learning and higher education.

People who have observed me teaching in the past have had positive criticism of my work and mentioned how efficient and encouraging my lessons and teaching methods are. In my opinion, to be a good teacher it is essential to be flexible with the environment you work in and have to have comprehensive knowledge both in outdoors and in classroom settings. You have to experience and observe the outside world for you to engage and maintain properly an enthusiastic class when teaching geography.

The qualifications and the reputation I have obtained in Geography are the results of an enthusiasm I have had since my childhood for this subject area and it is still part of my daily life that comes to life through my own business and its journal.

Geography is not only my profession, but is also my hobby that is present in my life with all of its aspects, whether it be examining a piece of rock or talking about coffee beans, I can discuss both in an academic sense as well as out of personal interest. The diverse use of language therefore is important when encouraging others on geography and the key is to find a common interest between subject and receiver for them to understand and to be inspired by what they are learning. For example, when teaching in the prison, Mathematics combined with Geography suddenly becomes more interesting and therefore engaging.

For a researcher with a deep understanding about the Earth's mechanisms, Geography will always reserve a high number of mysteries. Research is the foundation for everything that is taught and this will always be exciting for me to do. But the implementation of this new knowledge may be challenging, that is why you have to keep thinking of new teaching methods to improve the quality of the subject that you are teaching. For this reason, it is essential to assist the younger generation for them to become capable to deal with geography related topics and issues.

Hi I'm Meghavi and I am a BSc Physics graduate from Imperial College London and I have a QTS (Qualified Teaching Status) at grade 1 - Outstanding. Currently, I work as a Consultant in the Digital Transformation space. I have always been interested in teaching, from my GCSE years, I began helping my friends with their school work. Moving to A level years I started helping out some of the teachers in my school to run after school sessions to help kids with their Homework. My interest in teaching began when I started helping my sister with her school work. I started teaching in 2009. I worked at Kumon (one of UK's largest supplementary education provider) for a year. Tutoring Approach:
Clearly each student is different, and so the way of teaching each one will be different. However I believe that if the foundation is strong nothing can go wrong. I will first try to ensure that the concept and the base of the subject is strong before we go on to a number of past paper questions and exercises. I believe that the best way to learn is to see how any problem can be tackled, go through the thought process and then apply what you know to the specific problem and solve it.

I will first see what the student finds most difficult and what their weaknesses are and then strive to overcome them. Each student will have their own learning methods, some may learn by understanding the whole concept then going into the exam questions, some want to go through exam questions while they are learning the concept to see how the theory can be applied to the problems. Some may learn visually with experiments or examples whereas others will learn through trial and improvement of their own. I will spend the first session finding out how they like to learn and design a program just right for that individual student.

From previous experiences I believe the key areas students need help in are:
- learning the foundation of the subject
- how to manage time in exams
- how to structure their answers in an exam
- lots and lots of practice
Hopefully once we start tutoring, the students will feel much more confident with the subject and the key to success for any exam is self confidence. I will always be their as a guide, a mentor, a friend to help them through what they find difficult.

I obtained my degree in physics and doctorate in theoretical physics from the University of Nottingham. I then spent ten years working as a physicist in various universities in Italy, New Zealand and the UK. My specialty was low temperature physics. I usually start with the current topics that student is studying in the school and explain to the student that topic and related background knowledge. As I teach one to one, my pace is faster than school and we usually finish the topic in one or sometimes two classes. And then we do previous topics and I explain doubts on those topics. I usually do not teach students that they already know, instead, start topic wise past papers of the topics students feel he or she knows well.

I used to tutor GCSE and A Level students at my college to prepare them for their maths assessments from which they benefitted a lot in the lead-up to their examinations.

I also used to be a liaison for 2 years working with year 8-9 kids in a classroom environment. My job was to guide and teach them, on a collective and individual scale, revision techniques, exam preparation and carry out weekly activities with the class in order to provoke thoughts for their futures and improve their teamwork, communication and academic skills.

Tutoring Approach:
Teaching method (open to be altered according to the student, however my default teaching method is as follows):
- Short walkthrough of the module topic with QnA throughout to ensure the topic is understood
- Exploring and answering example questions together
- Exam questions for the student to attempt and walk through the answer together (we go through questions until the student is comfortable with the topic and is able to move on)
