About me:
A friendly and passionate tutor with +10 years maths tutoring experience, dedicated to going the extra mile to help learners build exam confidence and improve grades.
I am from the Bishopbriggs area and a former Bishopbriggs Academy student. I have been tutoring mathematics for +10 years, supporting primary and secondary students of all ages, both in-person and online across many parts of Glasgow such as the East Dunbartonshire Area: Bishopbriggs, Lenzie, Kirkintilloch, Bearsden, Milngavie and the Robroyston. Moreover, I have also tutored in areas outside of the East Dunbartonshire Area such as many parts of North Lanarkshire and parts of Glasgow City Council, tutoring pupils all over different parts of Glasgow. I can tutor at pupil's home, my own or even online, if distance is an issue. Furthermore, I am more than willing to work around pupil's personal schedules as well as travelling to other parts of Glasgow to provide the support where it is needed.
Academic Background
My background is in Mathematics and Education. I studied BSc Mathematics at Heriot-Watt University and then graduated with BA Education with a specialism in Numeracy at University of Stirling, which has led me into tutoring mathematics.
Extra about my services - Online Tutoring
Lastly, if distance is an issue, the option for online tutoring is available. My tutoring services has integrated online tutoring service already setup. The online lessons are easy to arrange, set-up and easy-to-use. The programme I use has all the necessary features for online teaching but above all, it is free. I will also provide the necessary information to guide you through the process, if needs be. More information on this upon request.

My teaching experience in schools
I have also previously worked in numerous primary and secondary schools for many years across the East Dunbartonshire Area - Bishopbriggs and Kirkintilloch/ Lenzie and North Lanarkshire in the Cumbernauld area. This experience has allowed me to be familiar with all levels of the school curriculum, in-school assessments and structure, exam procedures and SQA marking scheme.

Tutoring Approach:
My lessons focus on filling gaps in knowledge, building pupil's confidence in their understanding of mathematics through a direct, step-by-step process, making the lessons structured and easy to understand.
A Systematic approach to Teaching and Easy-to-follow lesson structure - I adopt a systematic approach to teaching learning content is taught in a step-by-step process that ensures lessons are easily understood.
Identify pupil's strengths and weaknesses - I will firstly identify pupil's areas of difficulty so we can begin focusing on areas where students needs work on to ensure there are no gaps in learner knowledge for a strong mathematical foundation so pupils feel confident in their understanding.
Exam revision and past papers practice - I will introduce various successful exam strategies, past-paper revision techniques and plenty of exam practice so pupils can feel confident going into the exam.
Clear communication and transparency of pupil's learning progress with pupils and parents - I will update both students and parents of the learning progress at the end of the lesson so everyone is on the same page.
Provide recommendations for maths practice books and flexible lesson scheduling - I will also recommend any books to purchase. Furthermore, I provide flexible scheduling of lessons to work around the pupil's timetables.
What will you get out of the lessons?
1. A structured, step-by-step teaching approach so lessons are clear and easy to understand with consistent updates on learner progress.
2. Lessons will cover all maths topics but will prioritise specific areas the pupils have difficulty with or wish to focus on to ensure a strong mathematics foundation.
3. Provide homework & assignment support, guidance with classwork, exam preparation and past-paper practice.
4. Past-paper revision techniques and plenty of exam practice so pupils can feel confident going into the exam.
5. Recommendations of any books and teaching resources for exam practice will be provided.
Outline of the lessons?
• The first lesson will focus on identifying areas where pupils need work on.
• In the first few initial lessons, I will cover maths topics that pupils struggle with.
• Future lessons will cover maths topics in the curriculum that pupils are doing in class.
• Towards the end of the term, prior to exams, I will focus on exam practice and past papers.
