Teaching Experience:
During my teaching career I have taught in 4 different high schools including schools with a sixth form. My first post was in a Lancashire High school where I was responsible for the intervention in Mathematics which involves helping small groups of pupils who are below target in Mathematics. My last GCSE group all achieved grade A*-C. (set 2 of 6)

My next post was in a Sefton High School and sixth form where I was responsible for organising and running intervention. My GCSE group (set 5/bottom set) all achieved at least three levels of progress from their starting point and 3 pupils achieved a grade C (This was above their target grade).

In my final year I was teaching 3 GCSE classes. A higher group in which all achieved 6-9 as well as a vocational group and a bottom set where some pupils achieved grade 4 and others made their expected progress.

Some of the successes include a pupil moving from a predicted grade 6 to a grade 9 and another moving from a 5 in his December mock exam to a grade 8 in his March mock exam, gaining the award for most improved result in the whole school and then went on to achieve a 9 in his GCSE's. Another pupil who moved from a grade 2 to a grade 4. In total I had 14 final year students in 2017, 18 in 2018, 21 in 2019, 25 in 2020 and 23 in 2021, 26 in 2022, 18 in 2023, 12 in 2024 and 14 in 2025 who all improved their grade and achieved grades 4-9 (C-A*+).

Tutoring Approach:
I want all my students to be able to develop their understanding of mathematics rather than just learning how to answer a question. I try to work with their class teacher in following the methods they are being taught at school but also realise that different methods may be appropriate if they are struggling. I set homework weekly which is assessed at the start each session unless it is a longer piece or exam paper which is taken away and marked and brought back to the next session. I plan topics which are linked to previous learning in order to develop the bigger picture of mathematics but have excellent subject knowledge so I'm able to change my plan if the student wishes to look at another area that might have arisen as a problem in school/college. Personal Description:
I am a primary teacher who was born in India, spent a few years in Malaysia, grew up in Australia and now live and teach in the UK. I understand people and children from different backgrounds, cultures and needs and love to meet new people. I am a mother to a young toddler as well.
I love reading now though this was not always the case when I was younger! I think this gives me a unique perspective on understanding and encouraging a love for reading amongst young children. I enjoy puzzles and quizzes which leans into my strength of logical reasoning.

Teaching Experience:
With 10 years of primary classroom experience, my goal as an educator has always been simple: to turn complex ideas into lightbulb moments. As a current Year Leader and former Head of Science and Personal Development Lead, I bring both top-tier curriculum expertise and a warm, supportive approach that helps children truly thrive.

Nothing is more rewarding than watching that "switch flip" when a child moves from feeling stuck to feeling completely confident.

Building Maths Confidence: I specialise in demystifying maths. By taking the intimidation out of numbers and securing core mechanics step-by-step, I help pupils see that maths isn't just manageable-it's logical, predictable, and incredibly satisfying to master.

Building Reading & Writing Confidence: Literacy should unlock a child's imagination, not hold it back. I focus on developing fluent reading, rich vocabulary, and expressive writing skills so pupils learn to communicate with absolute clarity, creativity, and self-belief.

Tailored Learning: Every child learns differently. I draw on a decade of primary teaching to adapt lessons to your child's unique strengths, pace, and personality.

Whole-Child Support: With my background leading school-wide personal development, I focus on building resilience, self-belief, and a genuine love for learning alongside academic results.

How We'll Work Together:

-Goal Setting & Target Assessment: We begin by discussing your precise ambitions for your child. Following an initial assessment, I map out any learning gaps and build a targeted roadmap to tackle them head-on.

-Active & Hands-on Learning: I use practical, interactive methods to bring concepts to life, making abstract ideas easy to grasp and remember.

-Structured Sessions: Every lesson balances predictable routine-to build fluency and recall-with high-energy engagement to ensure deeper understanding is truly embedded.

Session Structure & Ages:

Target Age Groups: I specialise in primary pupils from Year 2 to Year 6, though I also welcome secondary students needing support up to GCSE Maths and English.

Lesson Durations: Standard sessions run for 1 hour. For older pupils (Year 6 and above), I also offer 2-hour double blocks (split into 1 hour of maths and 1 hour of English) to maximise progress without losing focus.

Personal Description:
Tutoring has been one of the most rewarding experiences I have had over the last five years. There is nothing quite like taking on a new student, watching their confidence grow, and helping them unlock opportunities for their future. Hearing feedback from students and parents - whether it's how much they enjoyed a session or that they achieved a new top mark - is a wonderful reminder of why I love teaching. Having recently completed my degree, I am excited to dedicate even more time and focus to delivering the highest quality support for my tutees.

On a personal note, I spent six years growing up in Uganda, an experience that gave me a real appreciation for the value of education. Raised in a "maths household", I've always loved the subject and pursued it to the highest academic level - recently graduating with a First Class Degree (with Distinction) in Mathematics & Statistics, alongside achieving two awards for my final-year research project. Beyond tutoring, I am now pursuing my own goals in the field of Statistics as I look to combine my love of maths with my second passion - Football.

From GCSE fundamentals to advanced degree-level modules, my goal is to make complex mathematics clear, manageable, and engaging. By combining high-level subject expertise with a patient, practical approach, I ensure every student leaves our sessions feeling confident and inspired to reach their full potential.

Teaching Experience:
I have been a maths tutor for the last 5 years, teaching remotely with students taking their SATs, GCSEs, and A-levels as well as individuals who are taking University exams. I have worked with over 20 tutees and I am well equipped to guide students through the exam season with both new study and revision, alongside important exam technique and strategy.

Tutoring Approach:
I deliver online lessons using an interactive whiteboard, tailored specifically to how each student engages with their maths. My goal is simple: to help students build confidence, master content, and achieve to the best of their ability. At the end of each lesson, I guide students on targeted practice material. For GCSE students, this includes access to my updated 5-a-week practice program.

Success in tutoring is a team effort. My role is to transfer my knowledge and skills onto my students, keep them on track, and give them the support they need both in and out of sessions. In return, I ask that students stay committed and practise between sessions. By building this strong working dynamic, we consistently meet, or exceed, target grades and develop a new confidence for learning that my students can take with them into their next phase.
