I make a conscious effort to ensure I am not just catering for visual learners like myself, but try to see lessons through other learners' eyes. For example, to introduce pictograms to numeracy entry level class, I got the learners to create 'human pictograms' arranged by name length, pets, eye colour, etc. and then transferred that information as pictograms to the board. Kinaesthetic learners were thereby catered for in the physical movement and manipulation, visual learners in the pictograms created on the board and audio learners as we discussed and interpreted the graphs.

I have in particular come to understand the value of sharing learning objectives and success criteria with students. Knowing exactly what is expected and how they can achieve allow learners to focus more clearly on tasks.

The tutor is the expert in subject knowledge and learning but it is the tutee who has the paramount role in their own education and excelling in their subjects. I firmly believe that the role of a tutor is that of a catalyst and the child's role in their own learning is of greater importance. I aim to guide the tutee to learn in a structured manner that so that the child does not waste their time jumping from topic to topic, randomly browsing a bit here and a bit there, as often happens. Tutoring Approach:
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A SILLY QUESTION

Just remember: there is no such thing as a silly question and it's never too late to learn something new. Asking questions is how we all learn and progress. I asked a lot of silly questions and now I'm in a position to help other people so it works!

Personal Description:
I am a goal oriented mature family man focused on results.
I am conversant with the educational curriculum.
I do have good communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to motivate children to achieve their highest potential.
I always seek to organise lessons around the student's areas of interest.
I have a Bachelor of Engineering honours degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering.
I can offer both online and physical lessons to students close by.
I am also willing to travel distances not more than 6 miles at an agreed cost.

Teaching Experience:
I started teaching in 2018 specialising in Maths and Physics from gcse up-to A level. I taught full time at two different schools in South Africa before i relocated to the UK 2 months ago and during that time i also had an opportunity to offer private tutoring sessions both physical and online to some students across the globe.
4 years at Taal-net St Johns High school South Africa : age range 11 -18
1 year at Sagan academy International South Africa : age range 11 - 18

Tutoring Approach:
I provide tuition to students using a friendly and relaxed approach to tutoring. My tutoring sessions are customised to meet the specific requirement of each student. Generally, I find pleasure in teaching and I use a combination of computer and 'white board' based approach, for creating informal interactive / discussion type sessions, with some form of regular tests and re-cap sessions.
