My approach to proof-editing / English checking is to look primarily at the language. For some clients - university students in particular - it is not appropriate to offer an editorial service as this goes against the rules of university submissions. However, where I think a mistake has been made or something is not clearly expressed - and it is not a simple matter of correcting the language - then I will flag it up to the student so they can look at it again.

My main aim with my tutees is to build their confidence and enthusiasm for the subject. To this end I concentrate on teaching the skills they require to achieve the grades they want. My role is not to replace the teaching they get at school but to compliment it so a tutoring session could concentrate on planning an essay the student has been asked to write or going through specific areas the student needs help with. There's no one-size-fits-all but, in a sentence, I try to bring the personalised, discursive style of teaching and learning exemplified in Oxbridge supervisions/tutorials to all my lessons, encouraging students to engage with new material in an oral-first format, getting them to ask their own questions and test their own knowledge, and always ensuring that lessons are engaging for a student's level and interests.

Personal Description:
Hello there!
I am a native Greek speaker with a very rich teaching experience in languages and theater work. I have a Bachelors Degree in French literature and linguistics but have been living, studying and working 17 years long in Austria so my skills in German language have surpassed my French :)

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching Greek, German and French to kids, teenagers, adults and seniors in various settings, both live and online.
My most consistent teaching work has been 6 years of teaching Greek to kindergarten kids growing up in Austria, as well as 5 years of teaching Greek to seniors. I have been parallelly working as a theatre educator for the past 12 years.

Tutoring Approach:
My love for languages, intercultural communications and the arts motivate me greatly to get to analyze and strive to understand my students' individual needs and adapt the lessons to them. Looking forward to meeting you!
