Tutoring Approach:
For some students, gaining confidence with many of the concepts and ideas presented in geography at Key Stage 4 or 5 is difficult - especially considering the pressures of coursework, ongoing assessment and the natural workload provided by other subjects. Yet these concepts underpin much of the reality that geography deals with.
My approach to tutoring is to enthuse the often overwhelmed student first and foremost with 'real', accessible geography. By using interactive ICT-based resources and practical assessment tools such as course guides, question mark schemes and exemplar work, the student can access previously hard-to-grasp material, and gain a critical understanding of the assessment process.

Hello, I am a well qualified, BA, MPhil, PGCE teacher who is looking to branch out into more private tutoring work. I have privately tutored for many years and have experience since 1996. Paolo is an Italian songwriter, composer, and stage director based in London.

He has independently composed, produced, and released solo albums, as well as soundtracks for theatre productions and songs for other artists. Beginning his music career in 1992, Paolo is also an accomplished singer and guitarist who has performed across Europe and collaborated with numerous international artists.

His unique writing style has evolved over years of traveling, literary studies, and ongoing poetic exploration, which earned him first prize in poetry at the Pirandello Stable Festival in 2012.

Paolo's theatre and cinema career began in 1998. Alongside intensive drama school training, he spent seven years honing his acting and directing skills at the Teatro Regio di Torino, working under renowned directors Franco Zeffirelli, José Carlos Plaza, Ugo De Ana, Giuseppe Patroni Griffi, and John Cox.

Since 2002, he has written and directed numerous plays, including The Bald Soprano by Ionesco, The Trojan Women by Euripides, and A Doll's House by Ibsen, staged in various UK venues.

Throughout his career, Paolo has taught Italian Literature, Humanities, Music, and Geography in primary and secondary schools and academies. Hello! I am a highly experienced, enthusiastic and approachable full-time tutor with a First-Class Geography degree from the University of Birmingham. I also find that students really benefit when I integrate discussion points and give them opportunities to try teaching something back to me, as it ensures the student has a comprehensive understanding while developing confidence. It is vital that students understand the content needed to answer the question but must also become familiar with the key ideas examiners are looking for. It is often how a student answers the question that enables them to get top marks however, this is typically the most challenging part. Consequently, exam techniques will also feature throughout tutorials as we progress through the course. I prepare questions and provide personalised feedback and guidance to help students excel in exam situations. Furthermore, we will work through case studies to broaden your knowledge and deepen your Geographical understanding by applying theories and models to real-life local and global examples. These can be embedded in your answers to provide the breadth and depth needed to obtain the highest marks.

I also offer help with structure and technique for academic writing and research projects for students undertaking an NEA or Geography-based Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). I am 34 year old female, looking to support learners with their education. Teaching has always been my passion since I was a little girl, and this has continued to grow as I have gotten older. I was diagnosed as dyslexia went I joined university, and this has yet to stop me from being successful. The fact that I struggled my way through school, has meant that I am particularly keen in supporting students who do not always find things easy, I believe I am a good role model to students with needs, and am proof that barriers can be overcome. It just takes the right support and patience to succeed.

Teaching Experience:
I have been a qualified geography teacher for the past 12 years, and was head of department for just shy of 8 years. I specialise in the AQA exam board at both GCSE and A Level. For the past 8 years I have also been an examiner for AQA at GCSE level and this past year I examined for AQA at A Level.

I am a keen sportsman in my spare time and enjoy spending time with family.
I am originally from Stockport but have lived in the Merseyside area for the last 30 years.
I also have a 2.1 BSc in Biology and Geography (hons) from Liverpool John Moores University.

Teaching Experience:
I started teaching in 2007 and during this time have taken on a number of roles related to teaching of humanities and science across KS3, KS4 and KS5 in a number of schools across Liverpool and the Wirral. A qualified and working Geography Director working across several schools in the north of England. I have been a teacher, head of department, examiner and tutor for almost 20 years.

Sessions typically are one hour in length using a device to meet on as well as another device to work on. Expect the sessions to be interactive and complete work throughout the session and then have further work to complete as part of your revision schedule, you are accountable for your own learning so you can get as much out of the sessions as you want.
