Learning a foreign language is a process that implies some mimicking, language awareness, practice on comprehension, expression and also creativity. Some studies claim that the way we store languages in our brains is similar to that of data storing in a computer, but, of course, much more human, organic and alive. Languages have different components that need to be acquired and "stored" so that we can start feeling confident and creative in using them.

Conscious learning is a process in which I am extremely interested because it feels as if we are actually helping our minds to store the data so they can be available for us to use. I am a proactive, dedicated teacher hailing from Montpellier, southern France, with a passion for teaching. As part of an initial needs analysis, I like to establish any gaps in knowledge that need to be worked on so that the student has the best preparation possible when taking their exam.

Personal Description:
I have a degree in French and Spanish, a PGCSE and Qualified Teacher Status.

I have taught a wide range of students with different backgrounds and abilities from both state schools and the private school sector. I am just as willing to help a struggling student achieve a comfortable pass as to help another student nudge their result up to a top grade.

Teaching Experience:
I taught both French and Spanish in a secondary school before moving to private tutoring. I have taught online sine 2018.

As well as tutoring, I do French and Spanish speaking exams for GCSE and A Level each spring and autumn for AQA, Edexcel and the IGCSE exams. In the summer I am an examiner, marking speaking and writing scripts for a major exam board.

Tutoring Approach:
I try to make every minute of the hour count, and I plan my lessons meticulously. I also listen to students' cues and I am aware that many will be coming to me after several hours of study at school that day, not to mention sport afterwards.

Generally I do grammar or areas that require more concentration early on and then move onto topic areas and other skills. I can track down past papers and also work on specific areas that students sometimes spring on me after a difficult lesson at school.
