I have been the Head of Accounting since 2006, at a large Catholic Sixth Form College in Hulme, Manchester. I am 46 years old, living in Didsbury, South Manchester. During the first session I present a short questionnaire that I ask the student to fill in (honestly!) in order for me to assess their individual learning styles (right brain vs. left brain, use of visual stimuli etc), so that I can respond best to their needs. My approach to Tutoring is one on one, each student is unique, with different learning abilities, and prefer different learning styles. There is no one size fits all lesson. Small groups tutoring does work in certain situations where students are friends and prefer to learn together as they motivate and learn form each other especially in times of revision. My approach to tutoring will mostly depends on the individual's needs.

I define myself as an introvert, enthusiastic about my subjects and organised. As a teacher, I prioritise relationship building and getting to know the students in front of me, the ones I teach.

I have extensive experience in teaching, starting from 2018 when I first worked as an after school activity leader for a STEM business. I delivered these sessions mainly to primary school children year 5,6.
Further down the line I worked as a cover supervisor for a few years when I interacted with a range of different age groups ranging from 12 all the way to 18 year olds. I worked in all through SEN school before having also gained some experience with SEND children and young teenagers.
Furthermore in more recent years I worked with a summer school as a Business tutor where I taught international students Business concepts and applying these to a live Dragon's Den type of project. ever since starting tutoring my aim has always been to cater to the needs of the tutee.
i.e. I have tutored Spanish A level in the past so the aim here was to improve at grammar skills, therefore the focus of the tutoring sessions would mostly be on exam preparation questions, topics that may come up and then 15-2o mins of the session would focus on other areas such as speaking, listening, reading, writing.
I always offer the tutee to travel to them so it is all done in their own comfort.
