Tutoring Approach:
I believe one to one private tuition requires a tutor who can adapt to the needs of the pupil. Ideally (although not crucially-entirely online is also possible) I would wish to meet the pupil initially to establish how they may best be assisted and what the pupil's key areas of concern are. Each mind, young or old, needs different approaches and I believe my strongest ability is an adaptability to meet the varying needs and requirements of every student.

My approach, in most cases would be to follow a curriculum, finding out where their difficulties lie within this curriculum and how it would be best to resolve them.

I tend to use past papers when it comes to exam based tuition as this is ultimately what they will be faced with come exam time! However, when I have a pupil for longer there is more scope for more imaginative teaching or simply assistance with difficult homework.

I decided to start tutoring after my experience in trying to get tutors for my own children. As a professional working internationally I thought it would be easy to hand over this important element of their education to someone with both experience and patience. My lessons are interactive, supportive, and completely tailored to each student. I start by understanding your current level and goals then design a plan that fits you. For English, lessons usually combine reading, writing, and speaking practice, with a focus on building confidence and fluency. I also include exam techniques, past paper practice, and creative exercises to keep learning fun and effective. Whereas for maths my lessons combine practice with past papers, targeted revision techniques, and personalised feedback to strengthen weak areas. I aim to give students both the skills and confidence they need to achieve top grades in both subjects.
