I have spent many years accumulating a wide range of academic qualifications, and my work has often primarily consisted of passing on my knowledge to others in a form they can understand. I get a lot of satisfaction from helping people to understand something they thought was beyond them. My whole career has been geared towards some form of teaching. Explaining a difficult concept to someone else can often be the best way to make yourself remember it. When students have specialist teacher(s) at school, college or university the usual way of progressing is for them to work on one or substantial pieces of work. These might be a series of short-answer questions, data response, essays etc. This may be one given to them by their teacher(s) or I can supply assessment materials if needed.

They send me the work a day or to before the lesson so that I can mark it in advance for discussion. There is also often time to discuss one or two topics with which the student is having difficulty.

Students in education usually do one-hour sessions weekly or fortnightly but some students make more or less frequent arrangements.

Although this is the way that most students work, other approaches may be needed depending upon the student's course and requirements. I aim to be as flexible as is necessary to ensure a student's progress.

I am a passionate Second Year Economics student at King's College London, and have scored a First Class in all my mathematics-related modules (including Advanced Maths for Economists and Statistics for Economists). Prior to university education, I achieved A* in every Maths and Further Maths Papers (for Further Maths: Pure Core 1, Pure Core 2, Further Statistics, Further Mechanics, and Further Additional Pure). I have a huge love for maths and what it can teach you - it's not just all numbers! It has many applications to real life and is so rewarding when you get it right. I believe any maths can really help you to develop your resilience, analytical thinking, and creativity: there are often so many ways to approach problems! As an extra-curricular alongside my course, I take Spanish, studying at roughly C1/C2 standard.
